If those provinces don't want Canada, you can bet your ass they don't want the US.

There are a few highways from there to say Toronto in the east, and its a hell of a long drive. Compare that to over 30 border crossings just next door into the USA. I bet there are many BC residents that never saw Nova Scotia, but chances are they all go to Seattle, Montana and North Dakota every year. These Canadians feel more connected to the US.
