@kevcvs57 saidLooks like we'll have to pin that one as: kev can't explain but given kevs record here that was a given.
Your figures are a crock of 💩 is one distinct possibility or there are other factors at play that you’ve chosen to omit for your own anti vax reasons. What’s true is that covid vaccinations save lives and protect health services anything that purports to prove otherwise is patently untrue.
I have to admit at the time the propaganda surrounding Israels vax roll out had me making assumptions that Israel was the most vaxxed country, there was a period at the beginning when they were leading the world in coercing their citizens to take the clot shot, and you know what they say about 'ass-u-me'; it makes an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'u'.
But it's Chile in the top ten, they also happen to have a wuflu death rate 382% the world average.
So what of Israel, their wuflu death rate is 150% the world average.

@wajoma saidChile reached 75% "all recommended doses for immunization administered" at the end of October 2021. https://www.statista.com/statistics/1257346/population-vaccinated-against-covid-19-chile/

At that point, the country have suffered about 47,000 COVID deaths since March 2020 when the first was recorded there or approximately 2,500 a month.
Since then, they have had less than 17,000 COVID deaths in fourteen months following 75% full vaccination or approximately 1200 a month.

So wide scale vaccination has cut the death rate by more than half.

The world average is 873 wuflu deaths per million.
Every country above the average should have a below average vax rate. Every country below that line should have high seizure syrup uptake rates.
That is not the case, in many cases it is the opposite of that.
Chile 3336 wuflu deaths per million. nearly 400% that of the average.

@wajoma saidThere are other variables than vaccination so no, your expectation about perfect correlation between vax rates and death rates is not reasonable.

Peru, a neighboring country to Chile, has twice the death rate as Chile - the worst in the world. That probably doesn't help Chile's numbers.
Where are you getting your vaccination percentages from? They aren't on the link you provided.
@athousandyoung saidNever said anything about 'perfect correlation', you can go sit in the strawman corner, bye bye.

@wajoma saidThat's nonsense. Since you're including deaths from BEFORE the majority of vaccinations occurred, it would make sense that a country experiencing a high death rate would be more likely to push to get its people vaccinated. That's exactly what Chile did and it managed to cut the COVID death rate by more than half.

Your source says China has a death rate of 4 per million. Do you really believe that?
@no1marauder saidIsrael the first and hardest with the juice, led the world, 150% the average.

@wajoma saidYeah the Israelis I know are constantly travelling from high population center to high population center internationally and they insist on direct face to face conversations without masks because they like the interpersonal interaction. It helps their business dealings.

@athousandyoung saidtalking about the seizure syrup, not masks. but yeah there'll always be an excuse why the stats work when they're in your favor but why they don't work when they go against your evangelism, kinda my point.

@no1marauder saidHow can Israel go from being the most vaccinated nation in the world to falling behind the US?
Israel still lags with percentage of population vaccinated; only 65% of its people have been fully vaccinated which is even worse than the US. https://ourworldindata.org/covid-vaccinations
@metal-brain saidMaybe Wajoma's number is wrong. His source for some of his other numbers claims China only had 4 deaths per million so it can't be trusted.

@athousandyoung saidThis works in favor of the juice fanatics China claiming a high vax rate and a low wuflu death rate, likely wrong but if anything it distorts the numbers in favor of the juice. Take it out of the equation the juice is going to look worse.
