Bloody morons.
The FBI (who only operate in the US) and the department of Energy (US) think it’s possible it’s a lab leak.
Everyone else in the world says it’s more than likely zoonic. And that includes virus experts, the WHO and various other specialists.
Yes. There is a chance it was a lab leak. There’s also a chance it was an alien attack.
The problem is, is that for to claim it’s a lab leak you need proof. And there ain’t none.
Oh, yes. You can speculate based on one’s own lab practices, but that means nothing.
Most sars-related illnesses come from the virus jumping from one species to another.
It’s most likely the case with covid as well.
As the bats in the area carry sars like diseases.
And without difinitive proof, it’s pointless to claim it came from a lab.
And I’m surprised that, during the constant escalation between the US and China’s relationship, that you folk take seriously claims by the FBI (who you constantly claim are evil) and the department of bloody energy, neither of which have ever been to bloody China in any form of viral capacity, as a sudden truth.
Moronic to the extreme.
Show me the proof.
@shavixmir saidOn the bright side, if it did come from the lab (likely given the wuflus unique characteristics) chinese wont think twice about throwing fauci on the bonfire, ahhh, very nice thoughts, break out the marsh mellows.

No, that is what people used to believe. You are trying to relive the past.
Nobody believes that anymore but the most conformist minded people like you and kev. And it is spelled zoonotic.
You need to get up to speed with the latest propaganda. It is time for you to accept it came from a lab so you can blame China for it. You are supposed to hate China as much as you hate Russia now. They are teaming up with each other just like Kissinger said they would.

You moron.
Where is the missing link from nature to the virus?
Why were the emails from Fauci and Collins about it redacted?
All you bloody morons need to do is get them unredacted. Then you will have your proof it came from a lab. Why else is it a big secret?
https://nypost.com/2021/06/02/fauci-was-warned-that-covid-may-have-been-engineered-emails/
The reason they redacted them is because they took it so seriously. If their conversation was about how silly it was they would have been happy to release them unredacted. They were worried they might get into big trouble for it.

U.S. Dept of Energy says with 'low confidence' that COVID may have leaked from a lab
@vivify saidWhy did Fauci and Collins freak out over this? And why is their email conversation such a huge secret?

@metal-brain saidThey didn't. Conservative conspiracy theorists did.
Why did Fauci and Collins freak out over this?
@sh76 saidAre you optimistic Fauci will go to prison?
I try. 😉
I have a theory that optimists are more likely to gamble than pessimists. Do you gamble very much? Just curious.
@vivify saidThen why is it such a huge secret they are redacted?
They didn't. Conservative conspiracy theorists did.
They probably are responsible for creating the pandemic.

@metal-brain saidI don't gamble at all. Well, I did put $100 into a Betrivers account a few months ago and have made 4 or 5 bets (I'm currently at $126).
Are you optimistic Fauci will go to prison?
I have a theory that optimists are more likely to gamble than pessimists. Do you gamble very much? Just curious.
In two trips to Vegas in my life I've gambled a grand total of 95 cents. so no, I'm not a gambler.
As far as my optimism, it's more like that I tend not to worry too much about things I can't control.
Also, history shows that, with blips obviously, societal lifestyle and living conditions tend to improve with time. I have no compelling reason to believe that will change. Every few years we hear about another crisis that's going to destroy humanity. But then they never materialize.
Until a couple of hundred years ago, most of them were religious apocalypses. But in my lifetime, I've heard about the following that were going to ruin humanity:
- overpopulation
- fossil fuels running out
- nuclear war
- ozone depletion
- global cooling
- global warming
- etc.
The world's population growth seems to be slowing and should max out under 10 billion (https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2023/03/02/world_is_nearing_peak_population_148922.html).
The reports of fossil fuels running out by the year 2000 seem to have been a touch exaggerated. Most likely we'll convert to better energy sources before we run out of fossil fuels.
Nuclear war seems to be less likely than it was between 1960 and 1990.
Global cooling seems to have been a touch exaggerated.
Global warming of course may still be a problem, but so far, the catastrophic predictions seem to have been a bit exaggerated.
The ozone layer seems generally to be doing okay.
I'm not interested in living my life fretting over whether these things or some other machinations being worked up by a secret cabal are going to ruin humanity by the year 2200. I'm perfectly content to live in the moment. As for my children's society, I have every hope that they'll have an even better society than I do.
