I find wanton cruelty to animals to be the most cowardly and revolting crime of which degenerate 'humans' are guilty. Today's 'Telegraph' contains a report of some hooligans who have taped up a duck's beak so that it will slowly starve to death. What to do with the perpetrators of such crimes when they are caught? Sentence them to 'community service' a la the 'Gruniad', and Toniblair's recipe? Or return to the birch.
One thing is for sure: cowards and bullies fear nothing more than personal pain. So what should be done?

That is horrific.

Please tell me they found the duck before it was too late!

I wish I could reassure you but according to the report the duck is so traumatised that all attempts to rescue it have failed since it just flies away.

So taping up a ducks beak is worse than, say, raping an 11-year-old girl in a supermarket toilet? Or how about breaking into a house, murdering the 4-year-old daughter, and gang-raping the servant? How about deliberately blowing up temples, killing innocent worshipers just because of thier faith?

These are all stories from this week, and I feel a bit more important than a bl00dy duck. Shame for the duck and all that, but get a grip and a clear perspective on this, please...😕

It's that exact mentality 'it's just a bloody duck' that the perpetrators I'm sure used when they justified their own conscience.

It's despicable all the same.

Bloody duck or not.

Yes there are worse things going on but that doesn’t make it less deplorable.

You should be castrated to avoid your genes further contaminating the human gene pool.

I never said it wasn't despicable or deplorable. I hate cruelty to animals. It's just that I hate cruelty to humans a hell of a lot more.

It was your opening sentence that I was replying to...

I find wanton cruelty to animals to be the most cowardly and revolting crime of which degenerate 'humans' are guilty.

That's about on a par with the animal rights activists who go around beating up people who hold different views than them. Or digging up thier grandmothers and in effect holding the remains hostage.

I'm just asking for a little perspective. There are much more evil things going on out there than this, and they should be a hell of a lot further up your agenda and hate list than this.

If you look carefully, you'll see I didn't create the thread.

I understand your point.

I don't agree with some of your opinions.

Yes there are a whole lot of worse things going on, but if we chose to ignore or prioritise to the point where we endure lesser evil, we will have truly gone astray.

But point taken.

I still feel its healthy to discuss.

Sorry to interrupt but I think you should be feeded to your pittbull and see how thrilled you'll be! Just try this and you will feel better...

I stand corrected. It was not your original post, but Narganuga's that got me. Remove the sentence about it being the worst thing a person can do, and i agree wholeheartedly. It was just the fact that he/she suggested there was no greater cruelty that wound me up.

There are people out there who will kick up a great fuss about a cat being beaten, but not bat an eye while millions die around the world so someone else can get more money, land, sex, kudos, etc...

i agree we should not ignore or endure these types of things either, but I do feel we should prioritise.
