Yes, there are MANY disagreeable topics, and MANY disagreeable sites, which I avoid wherever possible. I don't want someone tipping a truck load of manure into my living room.
The Internet is a marketplace. It is a business. The owners/managers shape their product in accordance with the money-in-the-hand clients they wish to attract.
When I find that the topics on a site (like this one) more and more cause me to avoid reading them, I pick up my cheque book and leave.
This certainly does not imply a head-in-the-sand attitude, merely a discerning (choosy, if you may) one!
