@Great-Big-Stees saidWell, Arizona State University is just down the road from me, and they have student apartment housing that is on campus. They bought that land years ago with the intent of building more dorms, but times have changed and they leased it to private companies who built apartments that students can share, with many bedrooms and common areas. And yes, those are coed. And yes, others can be found off campus around the school as well, as others have recognized the need for housing. Those didn't exist when I was an undergraduate. I was in the sorority house from my second semester on, anyways.
No I was talking off campus. Both of my kids did their first year in residence and the remaining years renting houses with other students and both had both male and female roommates.
@Suzianne saidDid you miss the original question? She was not told she would have an unkown male for a roomate. You can really stop commenting on this, I have already won it.
If you're talking about her pledging a sorority, those have traditionally been all women. Now there has been some movement recently to have mixed frat houses.
And yes, there is also group housing on campuses now, that has started up recently too.

There was a question on the table, Marauder's daughter being surprised with a bearded male with all his parts as her new roommate,,,,,,,subject in our lib world to be charged with discrimination if she says she ain't thinking about being in the room with him. (Guy with all his parts).
And that same daughter going to a swim meet, for which millions of dollars and hours were spent to get Title9 to protect her endeavors as a female......only to be confronted with a male competitor in the Rydell High Swim Meet.
The 2 questions were never answered.

@AverageJoe1 saidPerhaps we, Canadians, are, oh wait, more “liberal”…sexually and less “ uptight”.🤔😲

@Suzianne said...If I am talking about her pledging a sorority?... Are you Marauder, too? He always brings up things that have absolutely nothing to do with the issue. Let's see,,,,the girl might join a bridge club, too, over at the community hall.

But, what if your daughter, unbeknownst to you and to her, was assigned a room with a boy.? What would you say to that? Be the first in the forum to answer.
@AverageJoe1 saidOkay here's an answer. In my opinion, gender differences and sensibilities should be taken into account in certain circumstances; shared dorms in colleges are fine, shared rooms (a boy sharing with a girl) should be avoided, as should mixed - gender sports events. I mean okay, mixed - doubles at tennis, but you know what I mean. It's increasingly a crazy, mixed up western world, sexually speaking, and some sense must be made of it. None of this has anything to do with homosexuality, 'gay rights', and so on, and the two issues should not be confused or discussed as a single subject.
Glad to hear it.

@AverageJoe1 saidI trust my daughter without reservation. Like the CSN&Y song, we taught our children well.
Glad to hear it.

@AverageJoe1 saidYou mean did I miss your original, bullsh-- question?

No, I did not. I wish I did, tho.

Seriously.
Your "question" (which was made up), is idiotic, and has nothing to do with reality.
@AverageJoe1 saidThis was a reply to GBS, NOT YOU.

@AverageJoe1 saidPiss off, man. No one accepts your stupid question as being real in any way.
Glad to hear it.

Having taught her well really is not relevant to her life being ruined after waiting all summer for the greatest 4 years of her life. Do you think their furnishings will go well together, as well as their 'habits'?
@Indonesia-Phil saidCompliments to Indonesia Phil for a well-written and thoughtful post. I encourage such writings from people on RHP.

Consider, am i writing like Phil, easily understood and eliciting constructive thought. Logic, common sense, rationale.
Thanks Phil.
