That is a very different question than what you originally asked.
"Should conquering have stopped when Europeans arrived on our. Eastern shores?".
That is what I asked, so what is different when I then asked ...."What do Ben and Jerry should have happened in the 1600s?"
These two questions are essentially the same question. PLEASE don't be like Marauder, both are very simple questions which need no dissecting, diagraming or parsing. No syntactics, please. I am not trying to show you how smart I am. Thanks in advance.

Why would anyone care what some type 2 peddling corporation thinks?
Well, I hardly care what Sonhouse thinks, we are just having fun here. I respond to him all the time.

Everyone note that you libs are all off on various and sundry topics, but not the germane topic.
And Shav tells ME to stop drinking vodka?

Definitely more thematic for American conquest...the drink of pirates

I view colonization as a necessary evil.
I view evil as a personal human choice made for selfish reasons to the detriment of others. Colonisation would fit that but it was definitely unnecessary and driven by the greed and other pathologies of the colonisers

If I find a rubber planation for sale in some country, and go there to make a lot money, be successful, do great things, philanthropy, reinvest, create jobs for the locals who would otherwise.....do nothing..., tell me, Kev. Would you consider me to be a greedy person?
And further, using the word conquest a bit loosely, if I saw an opportunity to be productive by taking advantage (conquest by your definition) of labor and property around me, where would be the harm? Marauder might say that I get every person within 200 miles together and split equally everything that I have discovered and grown . Do you think that?

I am thankful for colonisation. I personally wish the Crown did not grant indepencence to these islands. Why?
- without colonisation I would still have been in India.. never been there but it does not appear to be a great place to live.
- if the Imperialist powers were still in control then these islands would be far better off.

These islands changed hands many times, French, British, Dutch, Spain, all had their time to rule. Any one of them would have ensured and better standard of living here. The islands that retained colonial rule in the Caribbean are better off.. some egs Curacao, Cayman Islands, Martinque, Virgin Islands.

Colonial rule and Imperialism is a blessing for some.

Not to a close-minded one track liberal who is required to travel on one narrative, in this case, colonialism made some people rich and they absolutely hate success. They absolutely hate success. They use the word greed in the place of success. They want a diner owner to share all profits with his employees at the end of tha day. Ask them. They will not deny it. The reason that they will not deny it is to agree that capitalism is better than socialism.

@AverageJoe1
So anyway, what would ben and Jerry want to have had happen when we landed on the eastern shore. I don’t get what their point is. Does anyone get their point, or have a comment about it?

Thats the downside of living in a land built by capitalism. Subsequent generations do not appreciate how it got there and want to tear it down.

Their ideas would result in lack of inventiveness, creativity, and all that goes with growth. They are today into De-Growth. Their queer EV cars are but a stepping stone to their ultimate goal of government control. One study suggests only one airplane flight per year per person. Restricted travel, leading to restricted everything else.

This the type caused car manufacturers to write in bold on their car batteries " Do Not Drink This Liquid" ... Lol I think you can blame Monsanto and big Pharma companies for this brain dead generation.
