http://money.cnn.com/2011/04/06/news/economy/government_shutdown/index.htm?hpt=T2

Some of the government's biggest jobs, like defense and medical research, would also take a hit.

U.S. troops would be paid through April 8, but after that, paychecks to members of the military, including those in war zones, would stop.

The National Institutes of Health will stop accepting new patients, and put clinical trials on hold.

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke on Thursday issued a stern warning to Republican lawmakers that delays in raising the United States' $14.3 trillion debt limit could have "catastrophic" consequences.

Blame will be intense if there is a government shutdown. Funny how most of the news media does not mention Bernanke's warning.

Essential services are not cut off during a shutdown.
If I had said that, it would not have been chalked up to being an "error". Instead, I would have been labeled a lying hypocritical partisan worm by FMF.

Oh well, more is the pity. :'(

Yes, Congress has shown great concern from Bernankes myriad of fiscal warnings over the years. It's almost like they are trying to drive the poor soul completly mad.

So how many do you figure will die FMF?

As we all know, each day Congress goes on strike, millions will lie dying in the streets hoping for the teet of Harry Reid to bring them back to life.

Well, it beats suckling from the teet of Pelosi!! 😠

Why would you joke about something like this? Do you find the prospect of leaving several hundred thousand Americans temporarily unemployed to be amusing?

Yep, you guessed it. Whodey likes both people dying in the streets and unemployment. 🙄
