A long time ago, I once posted in one of the forums, looking for some advice in increasing my stamina playing tennis. Duchess gave me a long multi-faceted essay with 4 or 5 different ideas and comphensive explanations of how each should be implemented.
While I was amused a bit by the overkill, I was impressed that she was genuinely trying to be helpful. I don't think she int ...[text shortened]... SD, as far as I could tell. I kind of felt bad for her, but she was ruining the forum and had to go.
I've always maintained that the D was an experimental chat bot, having a field day with us so that 'her' programmers could optimise her parameters. And in the wake of her passing we've seen the rise of chatgpt.
And the ASD characterization makes for a good analogy as to how these AI net crawlers work. Each utterance is nothing more than the most probable follow up to what has been said previously. But there's no real depth. No real humanity. That's why you'll never get a touche moment, an instance of concession or respect. It aint in the diodes man....

I was neutral but I don’t think she got banned for anything in the public forums.
Her denial / defence of what the Chinese are doing to the Uyghurs was no less offensive and right wing than any positions taken by alt righters on the forums and her condescending attitude to everyone was always going to make her unpopular.

These responses show what a great poster Duchess actually was. What other banned member gets this much attention so long after getting canned?
I hate to admit but I enjoyed my interactions with Duchess. I think on some level most posters here did as well.

I hate to admit but I enjoyed my interactions with Duchess. I think on some level most posters here did as well.
She was excellent at shooting down non Chinese racists but her own racism against anything white or western and her stalwart defence of some particularly disgusting behaviour by the Chinese state made all of her posts weaker. It’s hard for a blatant racist Chinese chauvinist to hold the moral high ground and she was a long way from witty unless her whole persona was comedic genius
