Work DOES suck.
We work to live or live to work? what a horrible existence.
death is the better option.

You really only have two realistic choices in life. You either work for the rest of it until you die or you die now and spare yourself from the work. Since I will have to work until I die I really see no reason to work to live.
Half of the people I work with, I wouldn't even breath the same air as if I was not there, I wouldn't go near them if they were the last morons on earth and yet you are forced to spend so much time with them to survive, waiting for a weekend that comes and goes quicker than a horny virgins first time. I say f*** it. F*** it ALL.

I love my work. That is why I still do it at age 77. I feel sorry for you jlilly. You are such a miserable girl and you are heading nowhere fast.:'(
Originally posted by jlillyOf course. But, isn't it great that I am able to earn money and still enjoy doing it? It brings me alot of satisfaction and brings me a bit of prestige and respect. I get gifts for Christmas, and my piano students play at nursing homes three times a year and bring joy to the folks there. I accompany a women's chorale group for free, and they sing all over the county. That is for pure pleasure. I have played for churches since I was eleven years old and never got paid for it either....pure pleasure once again. My major in college was art. I have never been paid for my artwork, but it makes great gifts. These are things that bring joy. Try to find out what your gift is, jlilly, and then use it. I do care.

1. You are independently wealthy and will never need to work.
2. You are tightening the noose as we speak.

Originally posted by jlillyWorking 5 hours a week is all I need to do. The SS checks just don't quite reach far enough when everything costs so much. Have you ever thought about helping other people like the elderly or the handicapped? It would make you feel better about yourself and life in general. You might volunteer an afternoon once a month. They need volunteers to help at cancer clinics, you know, where they get chemotherapy. My oldest sister has been getting chemo for 5 months now, and she appreciates the people who bring her a snack or sit and visit awhile. There are alot of places where you could do some good.
