@shavixmir saidYou left out 3000 at Pearl, and torture and beheading etc on the Bataan march? I figure it would take about 500 of the japanese to equal one American, so I think the numbers are about right.
Hundreds of thousands of dead and burnt women and children.
If Truman had said no, can't kill babies, those babies would simply be growed up now, but we would have lost several hundred thousand growed-up men in a ground war. Yeah, all the numbers seem about right to me.

@eladar saidI think you need to read my post more carefully.

Funny how the support for Israel comes from the right while the people who support the Palestinians and other Muslim groups are on the left.
Yet you claim the right is antisemitic and the left supports Jews. I see a contradiction.
I called that position a "canard," a "prevarication" and a "knee-jerk reaction."
@eladar saidI thought the only reason the right supports Israel, is because of the overwhelming eschatological beliefs held by its powerful evangelical base.

When it comes to the Middle East, the right supports Israel while the left supports the Muslims.
@eladar saidThe left is obviously split.
@sh76
What is your opinion on the left's support of Israel?
On one hand there’s the historical attrocities which concluded in the current State of Israel’s existence. And don’t forget that it was the (extreme) right which cracked the hamer on this situation.
On another hand giving land where other people live on to someone else is not a very nice thing to do. And therein lies the hope dashed by the third hand:
Appalled at the disrespect for humanity and Palestinian lives. The hate and nastiness. The unwillingness to show humanity and instead focus on the worst of lessons learnt.

@mott-the-hoople saidI huess we’d have to speak to the (non partisan) man-on-the-street over there to learn what its about, We only hear what the hierarchy and politicians have to say
