Who could argue with that? Two (or more) consenting adults of any gender(s) can form any mutually supportive group they want - call it a marriage or a union or whatever. Polyamory is also clearly allowable under that standard, and many people are now posting their experiences with those “illegal” arrangements. 👍🏻

But trans-people playing sport in “the wrong group” is different. It forces an association on people who don’t want it, and which is, in some cases, unfair and therefore a rights violation. 😆
