Taiwan is a democracy, not unlike USA. Do you liberals think things will change in Taiwan if China takes over? That is a simple question, and it begs the question....How will life in Taiwan be after that? Government control, to put it nicely , I will leave it at that.
So, they now enjoy life, liberty, and pursing happiness, with every day. Will they be able to anymore, or will govt restrictions ruin their lives?
This is a trick question, because you have to agree life will go downhill into China-ism, when on the other hand you preach here on the Forum, such as the Zahlanzi character, how great all the free stuff is. I feel he does not realize what he is saying.
So, what do YOU say? Should Taiwan be free? If so, are you saying govt should NOT interfere with their lives? Up to now, you all are cool with government interference and involvement. Control.
Tough one.
@averagejoe1 saidIt's all so very simple for you, isn't it?

@averagejoe1 saidWhy are you lying about a social safety net and socially provided healthcare housing etc equating to the totalitarian capitalism developed in China.

You are the one who would like to a non democratic authoritarian state in the US to pander to capitalism, personal freedoms all gone no controls on corporations. Keep the people poor enough to service the capitalist machine for peanuts whilst the Republican authoritarian state actors find their bank accounts filling up with corporate Money and share options.
The libs here are fighting against that dystopian future whilst you are one of its cheerleaders.
The Republican talks, The Republican lies.
@kevcvs57 saidLotta stuff here Kev.

Kev...Kev...if you had to choose between the two, which country would you prefer to live in, raise a family in?
Kev?
@kevcvs57 saidThis post is akin to Sonhouse. The question is simple, deserves a simple answer.

Ask the question again. Without your tinted glasses.
@averagejoe1 saidBut to answer your question, I'd much rather live in the US.

They still have the ability to toss decrepit Presidents out of office.
And reject coups that would lead to authoritarianism.
And that vote in Kansas the other night shows that people are still being given a voice.
@AverageJoe1 conservatives are interested in the government in the US controlling women and their bodies! In China there are no elections. You are displaying incredible ignorance when you compare government in China to the US federal government.
@averagejoe1 saidThis is like an entire corn maze of strawmen. Your typographical blithering is torment to the eyes.

Where did China’s gold go to, when Taiwan declared itself?
Well, okay.
How many people in Taiwan percieve themselves as Chinese?
Okay, well.
Has WW2 got anything to do with it?
I don’t know, I’m just asking.
Well. Right. Okay.
Why would the US (and Europe) especially support Taiwan over China? Do they have more honest wages? Are there human rights so much better?
So, if we’re gonna have this debate, let’s get the basic facts staightened out for the hypothosis.
@earl-of-trumps saidTell that to the Vietnamese.
The country that rules the least, rules the best
Every country will inevitably elect a bad ruler, like a Hitler, Stalin, or even a Putin. But if said country's government
is limited in scope and power, they are not prone to genocide and are limited as to how much damage they can do
@no1marauder saidCommunists never listen to me.
Tell that to the Vietnamese.
Come to think of it, neither do American liberals! what a coincidence
