Cassidy provided hearsay under oath. There is a reason that no court allows hearsay as testimony. That's because it is unreliable and often a weasel mechanism to introduce falsehoods. But I'm sure it's reliable in this one case because... because... Trump.

Hearsay may be subjective, but sworn testimony is more reliable than tweets or editorials or tv personalities or radio talk show hosts.

The truth is not partisan the enquiry is just an enquiry people turn up and say what they saw and heard.
At the end of every hearing session the chair invites anyone to come forward with evidence if they have it. Surely the SS driver would come forward if he wanted to challenge Cassidy’s testimony as it relates to him.
You do not have to be subpoenaed to appear before the committee, you can choose to give evidence.
