Poll: Trump voters say racism against white Americans is a bigger problem than racism against Black Americans
The polling follows the dismissal of a lawsuit put forth by the survivors of the Tulsa Race Massacre, which many saw as a potential blueprint for reparation efforts.

The survey of 1,638 U.S. adults, which was conducted from July 13-17, shows that among 2020 Trump voters, 62% say that racism against Black Americans is a problem today — while 73% say that racism against white Americans is a problem.
Asked how much of a problem racism currently is, just 19% of Trump voters describe racism against Black Americans as a “big problem.” Twice as many (37% ) say racism against white Americans is a big problem.
Trump voters and self-identified Republicans — overlapping but not identical cohorts — are the only demographic groups identified by Yahoo News and YouGov who are more likely to say racism against white Americans is a problem than to say the same about racism against black Americans.
Are Trump voters ignorant, gullible or just selfish? Or has racism against blacks indeed become systemic and endemic, as I've said here many times?
@suzianne saidwhy not a good helping of all 3

@Suzianne
One contributing factor is consumption of fake news from unreliable sources.
Take the test yourself, then ask yourself, where do you get your news?

The survey also analysed channels through which respondents receive their news. The “legacy media” came out top. For example, over 50% of those who got their news from the Associated Press, or NPR, or newer outlets such as Axios, achieved high scores.
Social media had the news audiences most susceptible to misinformation. Some 53% of those who got news from Snapchat received low scores, with just 4% getting high scores. Truth Social was a close second, followed by WhatsApp, TikTok and Instagram.

Now ask yourself "Where do right-wing nut jobs and Trump supporters get their news?"

I mean how long are liberals in the US going to cling on to the fantasy that these people have been hoodwinked by trump and the GOP.
Trump didn’t create his base his base formerly the Tea Party latched onto Trump who agreed to hate the people and things that they hated.
They haven’t been fooled or misled they just hate lgbtq+ people and as many ethnic minorities or other religions that you could shake a stick at.
The problem is unscrupulous power obsessed politicians who are prepared to ride that wave of hatred all the way to congress and the White House.
@moonbus saidI don't really believe that is much of a factor. It's not so much that right-wingers are being duped (though they are) it's that right-wingers deliberately search out channels that play to their bias.

They're not interested in accuracy; otherwise Fox News viewers wouldn't continue watching knowing they've been proven multiple times in court to be full of liars.
@kevcvs57 saidAgreed, Trump is not a cause, he's a symptom. Racism was there all the time, but previously, those people had just enough sense of shame not to show themselves too publicly, until Trump Made America Grotesque Again.

@vivify saidWhat fake-news channels have done is make widely available what used to be snickered at in dungy bars over beer mugs.

@suzianne saidMore importantly, to be quite serious, what does this say about the state America is in?

On the one hand there’s immense systemic racism, on the other hand there’s an immense witch hunt for people who have little to do with it or the means to change institutions and are lashing back.
Where do you think this ship is going to beach?
Realistically, how do you propose to change the ship’s course before it’s too late?
