found this little piece of funny

"In Iowa, blind people can now own and even openly carry guns.
Most states require that citizens provide proof of vision when applying for a gun permit, usually by supplying a doctor’s note or a valid driver’s license. Thanks to a 2011 change in Iowa state law, however, county sheriffs are not allowed to deny citizens a weapons permit based on their physical disabilities, including vision impairment."

It's legal for blind people to own guns everywhere.
  3. 17 Sep '13 14:55
hopefully it is old news and that law no longer exists.

oh wait, you just mentioned that blind people can own, you didn't said anything about gun permits. ok, while technically true, you made a completely useless contribution to the subject. congrats.

As far as I know, it's no more illegal for a blind person to have pornography.
I wonder what would happen if a blind person was arrested in the USA after
some illegal child pornographic images were found stored in one's computer.
What if the defense was "What criminal motive could a blind person have
    to collect child pornographic images?"

By the way, I have complained that recent trends in computer interface
technology that emphasize the visual and the tactile (look and touch)
make life much harder for the visually impaired. Visually impaired computer
users need technical support for text-to-speech-based interfaces.

Someday the Punisher is gonna shoot Daredevil, or the Hulk will smash him and we'll all know he could have lived if he only had a gun.

are you making a point here?

even more, do you base your stance on something concrete? most states in america do not issue gun permits for blind people. as is obviously logical to all but the most idiotic individuals.

one doesn't let the blind drive. why should carrying a gun be any different?
one doesn't let the retarded, the psychotic, the ex-convicts carry guns. it stands to reason that no, carrying guns is not a fundamental right that all americans have. (only in america do we talk about carrying guns as a right, rather than a privilege)

Not about 'Iowa allow(ing) legally blnd people to get guns'.
I just noted that laws applying to all people sometimes fail to consider
the existence of exceptions (such as with blind people).

Given that I wrote nothing about it, why did Zahlanzi apparently jump to
the conclusion that I would approve of 'Iowa allow(ing) legally blind people
    to get guns'?

Do those other societies have the equivalent of the US Constitution's
Second Amendment ('the right to bear arms' as a part of their laws?

please note the title of the thread

please reread the first sentence of your post.

can you see how i could make the deduction that you consider blind people should be allowed to get guns just as blind people could get porn?

visual aids in computers for the blind? how is this relevant to the topic? how is this anything other than you either trying to kill the thread or simply finding yourself speaking about whatever passes through your skull, like a person with seriously sever ADHD.

    or maybe you are crazy.

    are you crazy?

that would have been the only thing on topic in your post. the rest is an off-topic soup of words. was this your goal? to derail the topic, maybe have someone discuss porn with you?

My general point is that when people write laws, they often forget to take
into account some exceptional cases, even those exceptions seem to
represent common sense. Insofar as legally allowing blind people to buy
guns, I suspect that no one considered the possibility that blind people
would like to buy guns for their own use, so nothing was done to prohibit it.
If you expect the law to reflect common sense in all cases, then you
are not familiar enough with the law. Can Zahlanzi understand that?

When I write 'by the way', it means that what follows is an aside,
not necessarily directly related to the thread's subject.

The rest of Zahlanzi's ignorant personal speculations about me warrants
    no response beyond absolute disdain.

Well excuse me. I'm blind, and I can buy a car or a gun or a piece of property and I can also find a POS like you and have a nice little chat.
Now do the world a favor and die.
(Just a little example of what kind of jerk you are, I'm not blind or helpless)

If a blind person was attacked he could argue he didn't need to see to be able to push a pistol into someones ribs and empty his revolver. Just tell the kids not to startle him with sudden hugs.

Am I the only one (besides Duchess64) who has really been enjoying Duchess' posts here lately?
