@no1marauder saidNo1 - Good to see you defending "conservative Muslim values" though.
Netflix said no such thing. There is a section on Netflix where viewers can make comments and that is what is quoted in Earl's original link. But that is not an official position of Netflix.
Good to see you defending "conservative Muslim values" though.
So if conservative Muslims make it illegal to murder a woman, and I agree with them,
then I am a conservative Muslim?? 🙄
Brilliant. Fooking Brilliant!!!
@earl-of-trumps saidForgive him, I had him penned down and he went off the rails trying to be right

@averagejoe1 saidAny answers to this point, we are exploring what is different about one cancelling his Netflix subscription for personal reasons, and one who joins with a mob to convince others to do the same thing. Cancel Culture. You libs have flown off this sub-section subject. Can we discuss it?
Well, I don't want to look at it. But, The culture people seem to think thet I should go beyond turning it off, and branch out into your beloved 'streets' (I have never been in a street) and broadcast the need for everyone to go wild about Netflix. Why ae you avoiding comment on this simple fact.?

A "mob" on the internet told you what to do.
You did it (if you aren't lying which you probably are).
EDIT: Here's some "mob" behavior:
"On Rotten Tomatoes, there's currently a significant difference between Cuties' aggregated score from critics (88% from 33 reviews) and audiences (3% from 1,047 reviews). The latter
IS THE RESULT OF WHAT'S CALLED "REVIEW-BOMBING," WHICH IS WHERE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL POPULATION INTENTIONALLY LEAVE THE LOWEST POSSIBLE REVIEW ON A FILM OR OTHER MEDIA PROPERTY TO ATTEMPT TO DAMAGE ITS COMMERCIAL SUCCESS. IN THIS CASE, CUTIES' REVIEWERS ARE TRYING TO LOWER ITS SCORE DUE TO THE FOCUS OF THE FILM, WHICH DELVES INTO THE MODERN HYPERSEXUALIZATION OF YOUNG WOMEN.
A number of the reviews are hardly more than a sentence, and simply call out the film's sexualization or reflect value judgments rather than offering any sort of constructive criticism. One user called it "absolute trash," while another summed up their thoughts by writing, "Wtf..........terrible."
Cuties has also caught the attention of the QAnon movement, which is a far-right conspiracy theory popular in the United States that claims a shadowy organization of pedophiles are part of the country's "ruling class," including the Hollywood elite.
The film currently maintains its 88% rating from critics, with its consensus calling the film "a thoughtful look at the intricacies of girlhood in the modern age, Cuties is a coming-of-age film that confronts its themes with poignancy and nuance.

@earl-of-trumps saidSo you don't understand what the movie is about. Check.
Here's how I present my case on this....
If this movie used 19 year old women for demonstrating what the young girls are doing, I'd be fine with it.
End of story.
Having 19 year olds play the parts of 11 year olds would have been ridiculous.
I commend Ms. Doucouré for making a film on this subject; it seems obvious it would have been extremely difficult, if not impossible, to make it in the US.

@earl-of-trumps saidWhat a laughable defense given the amount of hate filled attacks on Islam right wingers like Mott have made on this board.

Murdering homosexuals would be more in line with his agreements with Muslim "conservatives".
@mott-the-hoople said"Cuties is a deeply feminist film with an activist message."
"You said: "according to the filmmaker it is meant to be sexual..per netfix..."
No, I'm not "backing off" that this statement is inaccurate because it is. "
now you are saying the film is not sexual nor meant to be sexual? OMG!
[i]"I find it amusing that you consider a movie implicitly criticizing "conservative Muslim" values "indoctrination" con ...[text shortened]... implicitly criticize anything? I missed that part...oh thats right, you made that up didnt you?[/b]

@mott-the-hoople saidBecause no film company would have wanted to deal with the insane backlash it received.
“ it seems obvious it would have been extremely difficult, if not impossible, to make it in the US.”
Why?
And:
"According to the filmmaker, she and her film were criticized by those who had not seen Cuties. "I received numerous attacks on my character from people who had not seen the film, who thought I was actually making a film that was apologetic about hypersexualiation of children... I also received numerous death threats."

@mott-the-hoople saidNo, it isn't about "sexuality". Quite the opposite in fact.

The actress who played the main character was 14.

“ The actress who played the main character was 14.”
well ok then, 14, that makes a ok then doesnt it?
BTW...another actor is 12, neither should be sexualized. You are trying to normalize this.
Lets hope the film maker does do one on child rape!
@mott-the-hoople saidNeither a 14 year old or a 12 year old girl should be sexualized, which is one of the main points of the movie.
