Russia is openly talking about nuking Poland with tactical nukes. Since you believe in MAD the USA would not dare retaliate with nukes. After all, the USA would be committing suicide if they did. Right? It would escalate into a full nuclear war.

If Russia nuked Poland and only Poland it would not be MAD unless the USA retaliated with nukes of their own. The Russians argue the USA and NATO would not dare retaliate with nukes because...........it would be MAD.

Be honest. Russia has more nukes than the USA. Give it some deep thought. NATO would crumble out of fear of MAD. It would either be that or suicide. Poland would be on their own, all because they were stupid enough to accept the USA's nukes in their country.
Not only that, but if you honestly believe in MAD why is the USA putting nukes in Poland? How is putting nukes closer to Russia going to make MAD go away? Closer nukes to Russia is for one reason only. A faster nuking of Russia.

Putin will have three nuclear powers firing everything they have into Russian centres of population to begin with and then move on to smaller and smaller population groups.
You do know the difference between tactical ( low yield battle field nukes ) and them bad boys that MAD is based on, because it seems as though you don’t. Putin has only placed tactical nukes in Belarus and how does that make them anymore threatening than if they were in western Russia.

Lets assume the biggest super power will launch first after Russia uses tactical nukes to take out the nukes the USA sent to Poland. You will already have both nations crippled in a bad way, but Russia will still have nukes on submarines somewhere. Will the UK want to launch nukes after they see the devastation of the USA and Russia?
I would be willing to bet no. NATO is not binding enough for the USA to count on the other NATO nations to back them up after the USA has been nuked in hundreds of different places. I'll bet you think they will all launch at the same time, but will they?
Russia will warn all NATO nations that they crossed the line and any retaliation will have a return address and they will be nuked by Russia, the nation with more nuclear weapons than any nation on the planet. After seeing what Russia did to Poland they will all get weak kneed. The seriousness of the whole situation will demand a pause to figure out what they are going to do.
No doubt in my mind that all NATO nations will be hesitant to launch first. Even the USA. Who will nuke to be nuked first? Will it be the UK? Nobody will be looking forward to London being completely destroyed. Nobody will have the guts if MAD is reality as you said.
It is a two way street Einstein. What is MAD for them is MAD for you. Are you going to forget MAD and nuke Russia anyway? Say goodbye to London and everybody you know living there.
