Mexico.
If Mexico did not have capitalism it would be like Cuba or Venezuela. Also the countries with the happiest people are all based on capitalism. They countries that refugees run to are all capitalist. Nobody leaves a capitalist economy and go to a socialist one.

Stop lying. Mexico is a capitalist country with a lot of oil just like Venezuela. Still poor with all that oil wealth. That is why they are leaving for here.

Trying to equate Venezuela which is a failed socialist experiment with Mexico means that you are no longer capable of meaningful debate.

We all know there is no 100% pure economic systems. No need to state the obvious. There are varying shades of grey, which are obvious to people. Its not hard to figure out which countries lean toward socialism and which lean toward capitalism. The prosperous ones lean toward capitalism... no exceptions.

You are such a damn idiot. Since Chavez 25 years ago around 20,000,000 Venezuelans fled the country. Prior to that there was never any mass exodus from Venezuela. I guess they did not like the good treatment.
Must be all the Muslim agitation

You are a liar. Mexico is an oil rich state and fails to take care of Mexicans. Venezuela provides their citizens universal healthcare. That makes the USA a failed state since they don't take care of their poor people.

Israel is a failed socialist experiment. Universal healthcare and free universities. But they need to leach off of the USA to do it. And you are running from a debate about this.

Israel is a socialist state.

To answer the thread title:

No, Venezuela is widely considered an authoritarian state, not a democracy, despite its official status as a federal presidential republic; under leaders Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro, the country has seen democratic backsliding, with political rights, civil liberties, and fair elections dismantled, leading to severe restrictions and a humanitarian crisis.

Key Points:

Historical Democracy: Venezuela was a stable democracy in Latin America from 1958 until the late 1990s.

Shift to Authoritarianism: The election of Hugo Chávez in 1998 marked the beginning of democratic decline, a process that accelerated under his successor, Nicolás Maduro, turning Venezuela into a dictatorship.

Erosion of Institutions: The government has systematically dismantled democratic checks and balances, suppressed dissent, controlled institutions, and held flawed elections to maintain power.

International Classification: Global indices rank Venezuela as an authoritarian regime, noting poor performance in freedom, civil liberties, and electoral integrity.

Consequences: This shift has resulted in a severe humanitarian crisis, mass migration, and a lack of basic freedoms for citizens.

In essence, while Venezuela maintains the structure of a republic, its political reality is an authoritarian system where democratic principles are largely absent, according to numerous analyses and monitoring organizations.

I thought it was clear that neither exists in its true 100% form. Countries lean towards capitalism or socialism but none are pure. If people need to be constantly defining what they mean by capitalist/socialist, then discussion becomes cumbersome and pointless.

In a discussion when you need to resort to personal attacks it tends to diminish your credibility.
