Fairly good and discussable points, however, you are way off base here.

Please read: the title of the thread is "Is Venezuela a democracy?"

PS: as per Breitbart, there are still 777 political prisoners being held in squalor and are being tortured.
You have offered no proof Venezuela is not a democracy. And Trump leaving Maduro's vice president in power there says what? If the election was rigged then the VP is not democratically elected. So why is Trump leaving her to become president and run the country?

Did everybody forget about Juan Guaidó? We were told he was the real president of Venezuela because the election was stolen from him. Yet Trump allows Maduro's VP pick run the country. Did the VP betray Maduro to become president? If not then the election was probably legit. Trump admitted Machado did not have the support in Venezuela. The same is true of Guido.

Delcy Rodríguez clearly has the support there. That means the election was fair and claims that Guido and Machado could have won the election are bunk claims. Boycotting an election does not prove the elections are rigged.

You have been lied to. If it was about drugs Delcy Rodríguez would have been kidnapped as well. It is about controlling the oil so it is sold in US dollars only.

Trump did openly say that if Delcy Rodríguez does not cooperate she could be captured as well. So maybe Trump is just confident he can force her to do what he wants. But then again, it looked like an inside job. Colombia's former vice–president claims Nicolas Maduro's second-in-command Delcy Rodriguez 'handed him over' to the US.

Francisco Santos says he is 'absolutely certain' that the woman due to be formally sworn in as Venezuela's new interim leader tomorrow betrayed Nicolas Maduro by handing him over to the US.

@Metal-Brain - "You have offered no proof Venezuela is not a democracy."

I *did* offer proof but you said that the article could not be trusted. I asked you for a link to back your claim,
and you said 'I don't need links because I don't lie'

that's when I said that it's time to say goodbye.

Have a nice day

You obviously have me confused with someone else. I never said those things. Nor did you offer me any poof.
Where is your evidence?

And explain why Trump is leaving the regime in place if Maduro and his VP did not win the election? The Bank of England stole Venezuela's gold and their justification was that Juan Guaido was the legitimate president of Venezuela. Trump said the same thing. See?

Guaido does not have the support. He never did. The military there will never follow him. The same thing with Machado. Trump openly said she didn't have the support. He threw them both under the bus. Explain this if Guaido is the real president of Venezuela. Is Trump turning his back on democracy?

You cannot have it both ways. Either Trump turned his back on democracy or Delcy Rodríguez was legitimately elected. Which is it?
