@shallow-blue saidExactly my point!
It's because antibiotics used wrong can indeed be dangerous. Taking antibiotics for the wrong disease, for instance, is a bad idea. And taking them unnecessarily or not completing the course has been shown to create resistant strains of bacteria.
In other words: antibiotics taken under competent medical supervision - usually good; antibiotics taken at random by inexpert members of the public - often bad.
That is why ivermectin should be prescribed by doctors instead of letting people guess how much they should use and mistakenly harm themselves because they are horrible at math.
@Metal-Brain
Doctors KNOW that stuff is toxic for humans so they would NEVER prescribe such crap especially for covid.
But of COURSE you will find some ultrarightwingnutjobs who will claim that crap is a total cure.
The bottom line is TAKE THE SHOT and forget all this folk medicine crap.
@metal-brain saidThe thread is about the morons who self medicate out with any trials that might be ongoing or prescription based use of the drug.
Moronity partisan bias alert!
That’s why they are morons, they listen to morons and then go and do moronic stuff.
@metal-brain saidAnd those very same doctors would tell you that the right dose for a human is zero.
Exactly my point!

@sonhouse saidIvermectin is approved in humans as an anti-parasitic (in lower doses, of course).

Like hydroxychloroquine, it doesn't appear that ivermectin helps much against COVID-19, but taken in appropriate human-level doses, it doesn't appear to be dangerous.
@sh76
Sure, against HEAD LICE. That means it is a topical ointment NEVER meant to be actually ingested into the human body.
ONLY rubbed on the head or wherever the lice or other parasites live.
The really sad part is how memes such as this spreads out into the community who just believes everything repubs tell them, that base, and all of a sudden this crap is on the national scene being fed to millions of folks on BS sites.
@sonhouse saidIvermectin tablets are approved for use in humans for the treatment of some parasitic worms (intestinal strongyloidiasis and onchocerciasis) and ivermectin topical formulations are approved for human use by prescription only for the treatment of external parasites such as headlice and for skin conditions such as rosacea.

The first part of the sentence refers to ingestion.
I don't dispute that there's a lot of wild misinformation going around about ivermectin being a cure for COVID (alas, most of the information going around about COVID is misinformation - on BOTH sides of the aisle), but you're overstating your case by implying that any ingestion of ivermectin by humans is dangerous. Within appropriate dosaging, it's not.
@sh76
Ok, fair enough. I am certainly not an expert on horse dewormers🙂
But like anti cancer drugs, the dose has to be VERY carefully done on an individual basis because an overdose can kill.
But those folks getting that stuff are not even CONSIDERING toxicity. They just think, since I REFUSE to get the shot, I want something, ANYTHING anyone just posts on the net, MUST be true, therefore I WANT IT.
@sonhouse saidUnderstood.

The number of people getting their COVID treatment information from Facebook memes is, indeed, alarming.

The only studies that say that were done in the late stages of C19, which they knew fully well would show it to be largely ineffective. The studies done in the early stages of C19 are effective. The former is fraudulent manipulation, the latter is legitimate.
I suggest you do your research before rushing to conclusions. Steven Hatfill did his research on HCQ. More than you did.

@sonhouse saidNo he does not!
@Metal-Brain
https://prospect.org/article/steven-hatfill/
He has a checkered past.
He was the victim of a witch hunt in the anthrax investigation. Robert Mueller was running that witch hunt. Hatfill was later exonerated and he sued and got millions for it.

You just attempted to victimize the victim again. Proud of yourself?
Now evidence arises from Japanese researchers that in countries in Africa where Onchocerciasis or River Blindness is endemic, Ivermectin is distributed to the population to prevent or cure infection. In these countries, there is practically no Covid.
Researchers divided Africa between countries that have Ivermectin programs for control of River Blindness and those that don’t. The countries without Ivermectin programs had 4.3 times more cases and 5.7 times more Covid deaths despite having a 220,000,000 smaller population.
The study concludes:
“Conclusions: The morbidity and mortality in the onchocerciasis [River Blindness] endemic countries are lesser than those in the non-endemic ones. The community-directed onchocerciasis treatment with ivermectin is the most reasonable explanation for the decrease in morbidity and fatality rate in Africa. In areas where ivermectin is distributed to and used by the entire population, it leads to a significant reduction in mortality.” See this.

The notion of invermectin is basically nonsense.
Unless you have worms of course.

This is one of your favorite sites, since it specializes in low-credibility, low-factual-reporting, pseudo-science conspiracy stories and is highly anti-vaccine. In other words, it agrees with your version of reality.
"In general, this is a website that purports to be concerned for humanity yet routinely publishes false information that misleads humanity."
Your kind of website.
