The downside would be that Rogan would go from being an independent as far as politics to becoming a right-wing icon. He'd lose a lot of followers. Any new conservative fans would be disappointed that he's not quite the right-wing nut they're used to from Rumble. So he'd quickly lose followers from both the right and left, since he frequently has liberal guests.
So ultimately, this would be a bad move for Joe. But then again, he's in danger of being dropped by Spotify, who may decide he's not worth all the negative backlash.
