@averagejoe1 saidMany of these "helpless unborn" become naturally aborted via miscarriage, and the woman never knows they were pregnant.
Do you never consider the helpless unborn? And I don't say that in a heart-tugging way, Sonhouse. I note that you never mention them, though.
@suzianne saidYour 2 posts are really educational. Some folks think about 18 days gets a heart beating, which has some bearing on their thinking, while others say it is not a baby until 9 months later. So, we all get to 'pick'. Got it.

Your 'Hyde Amendment' comment above is in response to my querying taxpayers paying for abortions. Your answer is about FEDERAL taxes, so you once again, like Sonhouse, you go off track. Hard to follow, but you aren't as bad as The Sonhouse.
@averagejoe1 saidOne can get a clump of cells to beat in a culture dish. Does that a human make?

@wildgrass saidI don't know. Do you 'know',Wildgrass?

@averagejoe1 saidThe question was rhetorical. The answer is obviously no. We have many vital organs. A person is alive at first breath.
I don't know. Do you 'know',Wildgrass?
@wildgrass saidWhat is the basis for randomly saying 'first breath', So , one second before that first breath, they are not a person. They are not a human. As they pass out of the womb, where they had wriggled around and kicked mommy for quite a few months, they are not babies, thus not humans? I'm just asking.

@averagejoe1 saidYes. That's the legal and moral standard. It is logical from a biology standpoint because functional lungs take the longest to develop and are vital for human life.

I agree with many of the state laws that allow 22-24 weeks to make abortion decisions because that's when ultrasounds can detect defects incompatible with life. It is cruel and unnecessary to force women to carry non-viable fetuses to term.
@wildgrass saidOf course everyone would agree with your last sentence.

There are millions of people who do not agree with the other part of your post.
Lets dump it, tell yourself you win, and that we have more fish to fry.
Did you know that Biden's proposal includes Lifetime Welfare for all Afghans who come here? We can disagree on that if you'd like to? You will get a LOT of support;;, Mott, Earl,CIV , Eladar et al will do our best.
