Gates has used his foundation to avoid capital gains taxes like the Rockefellers did long ago with their foundation. Taxes are for poor people, not the wealthy. Here is an excerpt from the link below:

If you accept that every country and indeed the planet has finite resources then you have to see how a reduction in population has the potential to increase each individual share of those finite resources. Which is another way of describing poverty reduction.

Your getting money confused with resources, money is an arbitrary and abstract intrinsically valueless concept.
Resources are things like food, water, arable and grazing land, energy sources and building materials. They are definitely finite especially in the marginal human habitats.
