Well said. Unless it's for a business of course.
Also, they are many older and disabled people that benefit from labor-saving devices. It makes it possible for them to still do it on their own.

Ok these are fair points. I would be willing as a trade-off to pay gardeners more money for the time spent taking leaves in exchange for a quieter Saturday.

Personally I just mow the leaves into the yard, but I know some like to dispose elsewhere.
"Personally I just mow the leaves into the yard, but I know some like to dispose elsewhere."

surely you dont use a noisy lawnmower to do this?

Put the bottle down and take a look around little feller; YOU can't even spell. I don't even know what YOU're trying to say it spelled so bad. Call me in the morning with YOUr address and I'll get to work on YOUr lawn ASAP. πŸ™‚ I'm sure I have the best workers in your area. The best-est. πŸ™‚
I aske di fyou know that the cost of the Dept of Education was ONE HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS. Now, because of Prince Musk, we will find One Hundred Billion Dollars with which to do good things.
Tell us, do you think that is a good thing?

edit: Why do King and people like Marauder go contrarian on an issue like this? (Someone explain contrarian to the simple Kind David). Marauder knows what Contrarian means, he eats it for supper.
The will not consider it a good thing.

This is like comparing a rock concert to nails on a chalkboard.

Wildgrass, today evidenced surfaced of Musk findings. $100B in savings by the Dismantling of DOE. Plus states will now get the money, not the DOE. Not one student in 23 schools in Boston are proficient in math. Not ONE child.
Don’t you think we have to do something for our children? Don’t ask contrarians such as Marauder, they will leave everything as it is.

Don’t know about your children but our nest has been “chick” free for decades so I am the lawn care and snow removal go to person. I’m too frugal to hire outside help.πŸ˜²πŸ˜‰πŸ˜
Ah, well, then, hire a neighbor kid to do that for you. That's why we have neighbors, right ?

Can we all agree that leaf blowers should be banned?

All day, every Saturday, for the whole summer, leaf blower noises echo through every neighborhood in America (unless they've been banned). Noise pollution, particulate pollution, air pollution, all just to move leaves and grass clippings from one side of the yard to the other, only to have the wind just blow them back ...[text shortened]... communities.

Honestly, what's the counter-argument? Can we just get rid of these things for good?
"Bans lead to quieter, healthier, cleaner communities."
i am guessing you actually want to discuss a different ban, something you care about

Did you not note my mentioning my dislike of letting go of my hard earned money?πŸ€”πŸ˜²

lol.. Actually, it's the lawns that are artificial; the trees are natural. πŸ˜› πŸ˜‰
Lawns occur naturally in England where "sheep may safely graze." πŸ˜†

Nowhere else, that I know of.

At the risk of sounding like our local moron Mott, What a gullible fool.

We all did fine in pubic schools. Most of us went on to college.

If Boston kids are deficient in math, it must be because of private charter schools.

And in case you've been living under a rock all this time, in some states, charter schools have been sucking up all the public school money for an easy decade now.

And yes, we should actually do something for our children. Take all that money OUT of the private sector and re-invest it back in public schools. For the last 46 years, the DoE has been responsible for testing scholastic achievement and evening out the bad performance of some schools, but they can't be held responsible for the bad performance of private schools. Blame those private schools for bad results.

Maybe this ham-handed way of managing education will have one good result. Maybe we'll end up with fewer charter schools, since they won't be sucking down all the public school money anymore, and some may suddenly find it unprofitable. Maybe then a Democrat president with vision, like Jimmy Carter, who created the Department of Education in the first place, will bring it back from the dead once we see how efficient the public school system really was, and how many minority children are receiving NO education at all now.

OR, if you are old and infirm like AverageJoe, you can go down to Wendy's and hire 3 Mexican guys with rakes...

Er... where'd those guys go, anyway? πŸ˜†

I hear they're raking lawns in El Salvador now.

And Wendy's? Most day workers hang out at Home Depot where I live.

But you're right. I haven't seen any there either for a while.

However, on a cycle path, I prefer pavement under my tyres -- leaves, especially when wet & in a curve, are a hazard.
This is absolutely no lie.

I think some of your friends want you to hire more employees, whether you need them or not, because they have to have jobs.
Have you EVER had a job?

And I mean a job that paid your mortgage and your groceries, not some paper route.
