Can we all agree that leaf blowers should be banned?
All day, every Saturday, for the whole summer, leaf blower noises echo through every neighborhood in America (unless they've been banned). Noise pollution, particulate pollution, air pollution, all just to move leaves and grass clippings from one side of the yard to the other, only to have the wind just blow them back again. A moronic human invention that serves little purpose other than destroying peaceful, quiet summer days.
Bans lead to quieter, healthier, cleaner communities.
Honestly, what's the counter-argument? Can we just get rid of these things for good?

I knew you were weird.
@my-king-and-i removed their quoted postIf you played music outside at the same decibel level as a leaf blower, I'm sure you would be cited and arrested.
@wildgrass saidI had a lawn maintenance and snow removal business for over a decade. I used professional leaf blowers in the fall to remove all leaves from yards; large yards usually. It saved me hours upon hours of raking these yards by hand. I blew the leaves in large piles, raked them onto a large tarp, and then with two people picked up the corners of the tarp and dumped the leaves into the back of my work trucks. It took me and my crew no more than 3 or 4 hours to do a large yard.
Alright who disagrees? Who are the silent thumbs down on this thread? This is debate. What's the argument in FAVOR of leaf blower pollution? I want to read it so I can laugh at you.
] We have laws that told us when we could make noise while doing this work. 8am to 8 pm. There's nothing wrong with it. If the city or a neighbor does some kind of construction near your home it usually creates much more noise than a leaf blower. It's something you're just gonna have to learn to deal with. So laugh it up.
Btw, I did not give you a thumbs down; I understand that it can be annoying.
@KingDavid403 saidLeaf blowers... a topic for Democratic debate.

Whats next, BBQ pits ?
@wildgrass
Not only noisy, but also unhealthy. They blow dust up into the air, which often contains particles of bird droppings, which is very unhealthy for humans to breathe in.
@wildgrass saidI am with you, I use a rake, that is certainly more helathy.

@Great-Big-Stees saidThat is sad news. I find that work to be most rewarding.
We’ve become lazy or waaaaaay too busy to afford the time to rake up the leaves or shovel the snow.π€π
@Ponderable saidWhen I said “we’ve” I excluded myself of course. I continue to do both…the old way.π
