@averagejoe1 said"and countries like Zahlanzi ‘s Romania use our stuff all the time"
You suggest that business ‘doesn’t grow’ in the USA? Jesus. Has something changed in the last 250 years that I don’t know about? As to the services/infrastructure you mention, our enterprising country (650,000 patents per year) gears up daily to meet demand, and countries like Zahlanzi ‘s Romania use our stuff all the time. Take the internet…Choose to move into a desolat ...[text shortened]... who is a plumber should have his taxes pay someone else’s student loan, so we will always disagree.
The point, o moronic one, while "everybody uses your stuff" like you so eloquently put it, the american doesn't get to see the money for that stuff.
"Take the internet"
Taken.
"do you think people should get Internet for free? "
Yes, internet should be free. Access to information/education is a right and just like public libraries were free (which you now want to abolish) for that exact reason, we have now evolved to a point were the internet is a necessity.
"Do you think they should get cell phones for free?"
Yes, or as close to affordable as possible.
"If I work real hard, and someone else does not work real hard, do we both have a right to a free cell phone?"
Yes. You can get a more expensive phone if you want and you may definitely whine less. "If i work real hard, and someone else does not work real hard, do we both have the right to clean water"
" Liberals hate questions like this."
Nope. These questions are simple. What we hate is the sheer stupidity of poor rednecks answering them and the absolute lack of any conscience of the greedy billionaires who tricked those idiots into swallowing those answers without thinking.
"You just casually throw out something about abortion, when the decision made by the Supreme Court was based purely on the constitution"
They knew exactly what they were doing. They made the decision because they are right wing hacks and they are corrupt beyond redemption.
"We will always disagree, but we are having fun on the forum."
Some do. Some would prefer if the quality of the debates wasn't so lacking. Or of the people.
"For instance, you probably think that my son who is a plumber should have his taxes pay someone else’s student loan"
Well, no, i wouldn't like your fictional plumber son ton pay for someone else's student loan. I would like a billionaire to pay for student debt and i would like less of taxes to go to wars and more to go to healthcare.
Fictional plumbers pay little to no taxes and nobody on the left suggested one should increase taxes on people making 40k a year (imaginary people or not)
@wildgrass saidThat doesn't fly, Wildgrass, because it really doesn't say anything. It says "it is OK..." What in the hell is that? If my company loses $100K due to bad decisions, you are saying here that it is OK (for the govt, maybe Biden by Executie order) to bail me out.
It's ok to use tax dollars to bail out banks, airlines, auto manufacturers, all of whom made awful, unforgivably bad business decisions to cause their own misfortune.
But people? Nah.
Just one more ridiculous unfounded statement to go to the trash bin. Why do you type such rubbish? Like, your comment is going to make Suaianne or Mott say golly, I have really learned something with Wildgrass' post.
Nothing learned here. And please don't tell them, us, that Pres Biden should be able to dictate, like a dictator, that govt release its college debtors. Nothing learned there either.
@averagejoe1 saidYeah, maybe the government shouldn't be involved at all in distributing loans to companies or people. That's not reality though.

They are. They do provide loans to government and people. But then they tell many of the businesses that they don't need the money back. They bail out the businesses for their mistakes. That says nothing to you? The student loan borrowers just gotta wait for all that government cheese to drip through the floor boards?

@AverageJoe1 business in the US has grown because government over the past 250 years has supported the development of the infrastructure needed to grow business. Everyone should have access to the Internet, electricity and roads. I do not think all of this should be free. I pay for Internet service but have access to it. Many across the country do not have access to the Internet. Every gallon of gas I buy has a tax that helps maintain roads. I pay taxes that help maintain and build our infrastructure. I pay for electricity and gas for my home but have access to the electric and gas lines. You seem to be suggesting that we should all live off the grid.

Living in a socialist bubble makes you say say that so much should be 'free', which, of course, it is not.
Why do you call anyone with money greedy? I dont get you there. Lack of conscience? What in the hell?
The Court decsions was based purley on the constitution. You say it was not, and dream up what they were reeeaaaaallly doing. Yeah, right. I will tell everyone for you. Who knew? Brilliant.
You are just venting, you are mad, libs are always mad and angry.
@averagejoe1 saidWhy don't you stick to this thread for now?
What else can you say, given the restrictions in your territory. Pitiful. Why don/t you tell us the beauty of dependency?
@shavixmir saidBut only as long as he can save money in taxes.
Dependency on what?
We’ve been over this before; many times.
You just can’t comprehend work not being the most important aspect of your existence.
What is wealth to you? Loads of money?
Or the ability and time to do what you like to do?
You (and the other right-wing Americans on this forum) constantly talk about liberty and freedom (which are exactly the same thi ...[text shortened]... to not have health care, not have a working infrastructure and the freedom to drink poisoned water.

Stupidest post yet
@phranny saidActually, it would go without saying that I agree one hundred percent with your post. You put the facts perfectly.

So what are you saying that we should discuss? We agree.
Maybe we can get Sonhouse to give us a fresh 😆 topic!

@suzianne saidTrty writing that without cynicism and I could then have something to respond to. With this post, I would not know where to start. I am, however, picking up a few vibes about.......how much money someone should make, and that would be enough?? Is that sort of it?
But only as long as he can save money in taxes.
@averagejoe1 saidSo? People in Europe fit your definition of freedom exactly.
My def of freedom is The power to act, think, or speak without hindrance or restraint, like when a growing government hinders or restrains.
Prob with libs is that they want to be controlled and protected and made safe, safety nets at every corner, so they have no concept of freedom, or desire thereof.

The only restriction is that you can’t walk around town armed with a gun.
Other than that we’re much more free than US citizens. Even our privacy laws are stricter… protecting us from too much government looking over our shoulders.
You live in a bubble of crazy, dude.
@zahlanzi saidNothing, Man made, is, nor can be, "FREE", nothing, except for that which one chooses to give you. Even then it has cost them and they bore that cost. And the smiles that covid stole for so long. What is free to you is not free.

What you mean by "free" is that someone else has to make the phone and give it to you, or will you take someone elses money to pay for it?. nice. And just how damned environmentally disastrous would free phones be, I suspect the poor would need one as soon as the new ones come out, bells and whistles and all that, otherwise it would not be "fair". Things people get for free are not valued, thats why there is so much waste, stuff is so cheap.
The internet, Paid by others, not free, I can almost agree with, but with limits.

@averagejoe1 saidSee above, asked Shav to answer this question and his response was..."The only freedom we dont have is to carry guns', or some such.
You ask dependency on what? Uhh, the citizens of which of our countries is more dependent on government? Straight answer please,,,,,actually just naming the country, with no 'fluff' , will do it. r
WHY does Shav avoid my question.....I asked which countries are more dependent on government. USA is LEAST dependent, and he is a dependent man, so would not admit it. Would not even name a country. Maybe he will comment on the practice of eating dog meat in Norway, et al?
Go Shav. Let's chat some more. A lot to be learned on the Forum.
