We knew this was happening. All along.
What is befuddling is that people on the Left will still deny it. A criminal could rob a liquor store, come out the door shooting at police in their cars, then run into a nearby house and hold a family hostage for two hours. He could then kill the family and make a run for it. If the police shoot him--cries of "police brutality" would erupt from one side of the Divided States of America.
They sure as hell won't admit this is true. Therefore there is absolutely no way they admit to it being similar to the way they conduct themselves in other political affairs.

The Lincoln project is not "the left" The Lincoln Project is an American political action committee (PAC) formed in late 2019 by former and present Republicans. Regardless who who denies, or doesn't deny, the left had nothing to do with it.
I know it's fun to blame liberals for everything under the sun, but this little mess is the work of your own fellow conservatives. Good Luck cleaning it up! 😏

October 29, 2021 — Today, The Lincoln Project released the following statement:
“Glenn Youngkin has said: ‘President Trump represents so much of why I am running.’ Youngkin proves it every day by trying to divide Virginians using racial code words like Critical Race Theory and supporting a ban on teaching the works of America’s only Black Nobel laureate.
“The Lincoln Project has run advertisements highlighting the hate unleashed in Charlottesville as well as Glenn Youngkin’s continued failure to denounce Donald Trump’s ‘very fine people on both sides.’ We will continue to draw this contrast in broadcast videos, on our social media platforms, and at Youngkin rallies.
“Today’s demonstration was our way of reminding Virginians what happened in Charlottesville four years ago, the Republican Party’s embrace of those values, and Glenn Youngkin’s failure to condemn it.
“The Youngkin campaign is enraged by our reminder of Charlottesville for one simple reason: Glenn Youngkin wants Virginians to forget that he is Donald Trump’s candidate.
“We will continue to hold Glenn Youngkin accountable. If he will denounce Trump’s assertion that the Charlottesville rioters possessed ‘very fine’ qualities, we’ll withdraw the tiki torches. Until then, we’ll be back.”

We know why. Just like Youngkin, you want to deny what Trump said at Charlottesville and Youngkin's support of Donald Trump. We understand you want to sweep it all under the rug like it never even happened, but voters will remember. When will Youngkin denounce Donald Trump? The answer is never. We see you and the voters see Youngkin for who he is.
