It's a bit of a stretch to say that abortion is about sex and sexual freedom.
Abortion is about whether the fetus has human rights that outweigh the mother's right to privacy. It's not about whether a woman has the right to have sex in the first place. As long as you're careful, it's not that difficult to have sex and avoid pregnancy.
IF you believe that a fetus has human rights, then abortion is MURDER, not merely immoral unless you believe that some humans have less rights than others.
Are you for real with that last sentence?

Nice straw man you built there. Have fun burning it down.

Does that mean I'm saying that a fetus does have human rights?
Thanks for showing your lack of reading comprehension skills.
1) You say abortion rights hinge on whether a fetus has "human rights";
2) You oppose abortion rights;
3) .........................................................
But your weaselling and dodging is typical of the anti-abortionists in this thread.

Go ahead. Show me where I said that!
I NEVER said that.
There you go again putting words in my mouth and then ripping me for saying them.
What I said is that I think abortion is immoral. I do. However, as I have also said many times on these boards, I also think that I don't have the authority to impose my own sense of morality on other people.
I'll accept your apology whenever you're man enough to give it.

SCOTUS in Roe v. Wade cited privacy as the right, not liberty.
What is the interest of society in abortion of demand?
"But seeing as men in control of all that power through their patriarchal machinations, have been left wanting in terms of this one great creative act, have seen it fit to compensate for their inadequacy, by finding the most insidious and invasive means of controlling the gender that does."

Though if you are American, the notion of interfering in the lives of other peoples and nations, has for so long been clothed in the righteousness of enlightenment and improvement, why would I be surprised that you would not get the subtleties of agency?
Hey, ripping men is perfectly okay; but mildly criticizing a woman for ripping men; that's sexism. Right?

Capital punishment, self defense, certain police actions (such as the sharp-shooting of Sugston Anthony Brookes by Toronto police on August 25, 2004, but not so much the shooting of Amadou Diallo by New York police on February 4, 1999, even though all the officers involved in both incidents were exonerated), and even instances where the fetus is aborted to save the mother's life are not commonly considered murder, even though life was taken.

It seems that the word "murder" implies something "wrong" was done above and beyond the simple infringement on the victim's "right to live" (shades of the natural rights discussion!). In contrast, the examples above focus on the "good" that was done or the "wrong" that was prevented by taking the life in question. Any event can be construed in multiple ways, but some are easier to swallow than others.
