Is the mayor saying: “I will only do X with one colour.”?

Yes. Yes she is.

Now, as I’ve stated it’s not based in extreme racism, but it is racist (discrimination againsf one colour to be more precise). And you wouldn’t accept a white mayor suggesting the opposite, so you shouldn’t accept this either.

Not, let me be clear, that I don’t think she has a point to make. She does. This just isn’t a constructive way of making it.
There is a difference between making a point against racism by openly favouring reporters of one underrepresented colour and explaining the point your trying to make and the kind of insidious racism that results in an overwhelmingly white press corp in a very racially diverse city. She’s not a racist she’s an anti racist activist in the mayoral office and that’s what the racists really hate.

you liberals look like racist idiots trying to defend this...now to get back to watching my show on BET!

You illiberal’s would certainly know what that looks like, but telling blatant lies about a persons motivation just because they are black is par for the course racism we expect from you guys so no harm done to your reputation.

Yeah... and these activists are employing some pretty dodgy tactics.

It’s no good being anti-racist and using that to defend your own racism. It is hypocrisy.
It’s not leading by example. And it severly undermines other anti-racists.

Which media corporation can you name that refuses to hire non-white journalists?
If a white mayor said he was only going to talk to white jornalists the backlash would be instantaneous and of biblical. proportions. He'd be forced out of office the next day.

Anyone pretending not to understand the point she is making just does not want to understand the point she’s making and wants it to be some racial issue in and of itself rather than the reality of it highlighting the actual racial issue.
That’s their choice, but it’s activism not racism or hypocrisy.

Denying an interview to someone because of their race is the textbook definition of racism. You cannot excuse racism simply because it calls attention to the issue of racism.
One could also highlight the need for gun control by shooting random people. Would you excuse those murders?

Oh I can though if I understand the insignificance of that denial compared to the significance of the systemic racism that it’s highlighting.
But if I just want to scream “oh no look over there it’s a racist black liberal” then obviously I can pretend to not understand in order to defend the actual racism the mayor is trying to highlight.

Chicago...black mayor black police chief black city council etc etc and the mayor isn't happy so now she'll only talk to black reporters.
Sure sounds like systemic racism to me.

I don't expect anything except the people elected to not be racist against whites or any other race once they are in power.
How about you?

You just admitted that the Mayor of Chicago implemented a racist policy but that you can pretend to ignore it because you want to highlight other racism. If you want to eliminate racism, don't find new opposite forms. People will justifiably resent her racist policies and will feel that one of the risks of having minorities is power is that they will intentionally implement anti-majority policies.
