It ain't a right-wing/left-wing thing; it's a social thing that encompasses all of us, and because I am in the medical field, I know the dangers of drugs, even innocent, little ol' mary-jay-juana...yes, it is dangerous to your health. Alcohol and nicotine are two of the most dangerous drugs on the planet; we don't need more crack-heads let loose....rehabilitate them if possible, but keep them locked up if they refuse to change their lifestyle. I don't want my house broken into every third day so we can save billions of dollars that the gov't will throw away anyway.....
Well with his command of english I don't think he is very enlightened either. If decriminalization were to happen in the US, it would take half the prisoners out of jail immediately and save the US many billions of dollars but of course with the ultraright wing ashholes running the US that would be the last thing in the world to happen.
WW3 would happen before individual freedoms would be a consideration in the US.

Not sure how it is now, but from my experiences of Amsterdam many years ago, the main reason for a weekend there was to get wasted, and usually within the first 2 hours this had been overdone.
While the locals acted responsibly many tourists coming from 'controlled' environments went totally overboard, this attracts the street vendors selling other drugs. ...[text shortened]... needs to be a perpetrator and a victim - someone smoking a joint does not fit this criteria.

Mexico is a country with a corrupt government which is caving into the drug cartels, which practically run the country. Your honorable president, Vicente "El zorrerod"Fox, hasn't the moral courage to lift Mexico out of poverty and crime, so he takes the easy path by legalizing drugs, which will be more of a headache for the US. As I've said before, ist, I have Mexican in-laws and nephews who agree with my sentiment....Asta la vista....
Sorry to say but you are really boring and you keep repeating your family ties, as if that frees you for something you're not even accused of in the first place 😴
Nobody cares about your family, dude, face it... and no, I won't defend a stupid I also hate. I would do it if I was a chauvinistic, jingoist babbler with nationalistic dementia and dreams of national superiority... that position, unfortunately, is already taken at RHP... by you! 😉
Edit. Oh, no, gawd, no, those bad mexicans want to drag us to the third world, oh no, Mr. Anslinger please save us from the demons, oh, please, those brownies and jazz music are evil LOL! 🙂 You reallt give a bad name to the several intelligent, well-read Americans I am proud to call my friends, who do not see the world in black & white, good & bad, heaven & hell *sigh*

If mary-Jay-whowanna is illegal, then so should tobacco. That way all the deadly tobacco smoke would be gone and there would be of course so many less people in jail because everyone would of course quit smoking immediately when it becomes illegal like it should have been two hundred years ago.

For a start, mate, the burden is NOT mine but yours to show it is [b]not an enlightened country. Perhaps some law theory would be of help understanding that the burden is on the part that afirms.
How much have you traveled? Where to? How much do you read?
Anyway, I am always delighted to see an educated post [without trash talk or racial insults], ...[text shortened]... ogance intended but a little game of words.
Give me a few minutes to work on something.

For that matter, all we have to do is watch MTV or watch some Hollywood to see "enlightenment" is, once again, a black & white, good & bad sight... a sad, pathetic one.
Edit. Read the edit on my previous post 😉

People are generally paying for their own 'tobacco' adictions and, yes, all of our medical insurance is skyrocketing due to taking care of these smokers, but the tobacco industry is paying billions for stupid peole making stupid mistakes. How long has the Surgeon General's warning been on cigarette packages?...30 years or more...WTF is KEE KEE RIST? Insult me in English, if you wish, but don't use ebonics.....

Come on... sincerely... what's the story with the agression?
Being a male nurse is not giving you any sense of respect for the human integrity... I hope never to fall in your claws at the emergency room, really.

Open minded, reasonable persons, tend to think [ONLY FOR THE SAKE OF A GOOD REASONING] to ask themselves "what may be the cause of this?"
There is no justification for killing millions of persons, like in 9/11, Americans, Iraquis, Belgians, Italians, Germans, Mexicans or whatever, BUT when your neighbor, where many Americans are loved and well treated by many Mexicans, cheers Osama... man, there must be some resentment against some institution, isn't it? [name the White House, the State Department, the CIA, etc.]
Come on, promise you will think about this post, seriously. It is no pun, mock or anything else.
Originally posted by chancremechanicWell thats a plus, I thought you were a smoker. You still don't seem to be part of the propagandized bunch that totally believes Anslingers lies when he had a not so hidden axe to grind against heathen Latino's and Jazz musicians so long ago, his legacy has outlived his useless life. There was no problem with drugs till Asslinger came along. He singlehandedly set up the conditions that has led to the modern drug problems with such lovables as the cartels, the Hand, the Cosa Nostra, etc. All that was made possible by this total dipshit.
I don't even smoke.....I have a life; get a brain!
Prohibition didn't work in the twenties and the present drug laws play right into the hands of the right wingers you so ardently love.
