Does anyone really find midgets funny ? I don't. I don't get it. Why are they used as the funny element in so many movies and television. Is it because they are small, and shapped odd ? because they were generally shunned a lot, they had little option but to join the circus, hence the association with entertainment whic actually was a life saver for them traditionally. the oompa loompa in the charlie and the chocolate factory movie are a prime example.

Yes they were incorperated into the circus and in the middle ages they were a sought after person for baby sitting children in the rich peoples house. Because the children loved them because they were their size.
