Not even Ted Kennedy would be for bring those prisoners here. we do give them food, medical, etc. And we have a reason for obtaining them, WE CAPTURED THEM FIGHTING US!!!

And so, slowly but surely the story continues to grow...

You know it's gonna break wide open one of these days. Then the Bush Administration will be caught in another lie and trying to spin their way out of it. Again...

I hate to tell you this, newdad, but the US has imprisoned men who are innocent. Evidence of this? Men who have been detained for up to four years without charge and who face detention indefinitely. Put yourself in those shoes - not terrorists, but people who got caught up in a sweep, people whose neighbors made up lies against them because of a grud ...[text shortened]... hat. People who the US government can't prove anything against? Come on. That's not the US.
innocent people are not being rounded up. Why don't you show your sources for this....no country is perfect but these people you have a bleeding heart for were detained from the battlefied, in the middle of Afgh., and they were from other countries.....start thinking for yourself and stop repeating everything you hear and see from the left dominated media.

No he's not. This is a serious issue for so many conservatives. They truly believe the media is dominated by some group of crazed liberals that are going to turn all of us into socialists.

Paranoia has always been easy to spread.

I thought it was perfectly obvious that the mass media is every bit as liberal as their most conservative advertiser. What have I missed?

I know that Rush Limbaugh talks of the MMLB--mainstream media's liberal bias, but I thought everyone knew that even he doesn't believe such nonsense. No one takes his assertions as real ideas, do they?

Hey Skippy,

I brought up the point a while ago that the u.s. has released 252 people from Guantanamo Bay whom were kidnapped and held without basic human rights for nearly 4 years. Are the u.s. in the habit of releasing terrorists for some reason?

If not, then they are kidnapping innocent people on the off chance that they are terrorists, and your arguments fall down straight away.

I'm tempted to respond to this, but I'm not going to. I spent five years on active duty in the Marines and six years in the reserves. I'm the last guy even a semi-intelligent person would call "bleeding heart". Did you ever serve, there, newdad? I highly doubt it. You're all hot and heavy f ...[text shortened]... en you haven't done jack for this country except probably collect welfare. How about that, ok?
you seem to be an american hater, someone who thinks america is wrong, evil, is to blame, etc. You go ahead believing the propaganda you hear and read about innocent people being held, you keep siding with the terrorists. we have brave men and woman dieing in a noble cause, but you side with all of these propagandist shouting "america is to blame". Any sensible american knows this is not an evil country and if you thinik it is fine, that's your right. But i for one am glad to have good americans fighting to protect us. Somehow I think you, and all the other knucklehead dunderheads posting anti-american rhetoric, would change you minds if your child or spouse had their heads chopped off by one of these terrorists. Keep living in your theoretical world, one day you will wake up and realize the actual threat we are facing.

Of course they do. Millions of people believe that nonsense. They bought it hook, line and sinker. Several million of those people voted for Bush. The republicans excel at creating enemies, whether real or imagined. They see the liberal media as the bad guys. Completely ignoring that almost all of the media outlets in this country are controlled by corporations.

People like newdad believe the spin job they've been handed. Completely ignoring the fact that democrats controlled both houses of congress since WWII up until 1994. Our country became the wealthiest and most powerful nation on earth during those years. With democrats and republicans holding the presidency, and a congress with a majority of democrats, we became the only remaining superpower.

And yet... Republicans still paint everyone that disagrees with them as bleeding heart liberals. I simply don't understand it. It's obvious to me that having two parties with power to reign the other in when needed is much better than having one party control everything. Even better would be three or 4 parties.

Ah ha! So that's your argument. Very convienent.

So when US soldiers are captured by these "non-uniformed combatants" are US soldiers afforded the protections of POW status?
I believe that is the point. Our soldiers don't have any rights when captured by terrorists. The ones they have locked up right now should be tried by a military tribunal and if found guilty quickly escorted out back and hung. If they are innocent then send them back to their country of origin. I'm sure the bastards can't give any more intel since they have been locked up for the past 3 years. Either shoot the SOB's or let them go.

I believe they were turned in by fellow Afghan's who claimed they were Al-Quaeda or Taliban. Thats why they were released later when found innocent.

How did Spain let an attack affect their elections? The issue in Spain was that the president tried to use the attack for his own electoral purposes (he tried to blame ETA, if I remember), and the people saw through him. Should the Spanish people not be able to do that? What should the Spanish have do ...[text shortened]... evolant country in the world? Don't make me laugh. Well much money did your "benevolant" country donate to the Tsunami victims or the Katrina victims for that matter arsehole? The so-called macho Spaniards did back down. Macho yeah right. Ellos Son Maricons.
