This is nothing new, riots at malls have been going on for years across the country, sometimes spontaneously, many times pre-planned on social media. They all have one thing in common, they are all teenagers.:

Ideally the fighting happened away from civilian populations and the police but you never really knew where it would kick off. A favourite for inter town fights was around railway stations for obvious reasons.
Society is now very much based around the mall so of course they will be a flash point, it’s wherever lots of young people gather.
