I don't quite know how to respond to such idiocy. The lack of thought involved is just utterly mindboggling.

You truely are a nasty piece of work chancre.

You can't handle the truth, "Islamofascist-hugger"! America needs to get tough, and since you don't live here, you are clueless....CLUELESS!! A "nasty piece of work" is what this country needs in leadership! General Patton was a "nasty" piece of work, but the Germans feared no other American general....

The important question is who does this determination?

Nasty piece of work? More applicable I would have thought to those who make unfounded slanderous accusations aganist others on this site out of sheer malice and spite.

We invaded Afghanistan and Iraq. Since neither operation is finished, how do you figure the US is not at war?

In the first place. you cretinous creep, you have charged that I have two ID's which is illegal under Rule3(a) of this site, and secondly that the holder of other 'account' to which you refer has been guilty of breaching Rule3(b). But the latter has not been 'banned' under that rule thus proving that your slanderous accusation is unfounded and merely based on your own personal malicious character.

I believe that citizens be subjected to the laws of whatever land they are in. Non-citizens shouldn't have the same rights as citizens...only basic human-right ones....no buying US property, owning a home, etc....the right to not get beat up for being a foreigner, of course.
So you'd take my home from me? I employ a dozen American Citizens, I'm married to an American, I make a valuable contribution and you'd deny me the privledge of owning property and making a home for myself? Can I voice my opinions if they don't coincide with yours? Can I travel freely? Can I own a gun? Can I pursue citizenship? Does it matter if I'm white, black or polka dotted? Do my rights change if I'm muslim? Do my rights change if I don't speak English? What if I smell funny or eat strange foods? This country was built by immigrants, many as ignorant and short sighted as you seem to be, but contributors nonetheless.

DO NOT TAKE RIGHTS AWAY FROM OTHERS WITHOUT SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING THE IMPACT IT WILL HAVE UPON YOUR OWN RIGHTS. In all seriousness, please consider carefully what you are advocating. This country was founded on freedom and you are happily trotting down a path that will abolish the freedoms you and others have fought to perserve.

Neither countries still have an government that is actively engaged in military action against the US. So who is the US at war with? Cirtainly not Afghanistan or Iraq. Although the US is trying to govern both territories with military might, that is an occupation not a war.

I have edited the Welcome notice I received from The US Government if you were in charge:

"Congratulations on becoming a permanent resident of
the United States of America. On behalf of the President
of the United States and the American people, we would like to warn you that if you should so much as look at us the wrong way we will not hesitate to mace you, baton you and stick you in a dark hole infested with sodomites.

The United States has a long history of welcoming
immigrants from all parts of the world, this is no longer the case. America used to value the contributions of immigrants, but, we have since realized that whatever miniscule enrichment they bring to this country is far outweighed by the fact that you are inherently different. To preserve our legacy as a land of freedom and opportunity we are taking your freedom and opportunity away from you.

As a permanent resident of the United States, you have
made a decision to call this country your home, but, don't for a moment think that we want you here. As you work to achieve your goals, take some time to get to know this country, its history, and its people. It is now both your right and your responsibility to shape the
future of this country and ensure its continued success, but, we don't believe you'll be anything more than a burden on society. Exciting opportunities await you as you begin your life as a resident of this great country, but, we won't hesitate to revoke your rights and improsn you if we happen to feel like it.

Welcome to theUnited States!
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services."

Easy solution: Export all Muslims from the U.S. and disallow any from entering....this country, after all, was founded on Judaio/Christian values...keep it that way. OZ and europe can have Sharia law if they want it...
So... what happens if an American citizen becomes a Muslim? Strip them of their citizenship? Deport them? Jail them?

Hmm, I seem to remember a lot of people around here describing countries that punished people for their religious views as being backward and barbaric.

I'll always remember with fondness the opening exchange in one of the US Supreme Court cases about Guantanamao Bay.

The Government's counsel got as far as "America is at war..." before one of the judges snapped at him, asking to see the official declaration.

There isn't one, of course.

I wonder if that sets a record for the shortest opening in a court. Four words and he was already losing.

edit: And yet, in the court of public opinion, he'd be winning. I just did a google for that four-word phrase to see if I could find one of the original stories on that case, and the majority of what I found was people spouting that same politically convenient phrase. Often they were criticising judges for not agreeing. But judges have to apply THE LAW. And the law says that declaring a state of war is a legal process, not something you achieve by reciting a mantra on TV repeatedly.

thank you for your answer.

sometimes your answers to slightly less clear questions leave me thinking that your view of the world is not so sensible, perhaps it is a problem in expression and communication.
- but here i see you can see some pretty good sense.
- i think that you and i disagree on almost everything, but at a deep level we can see eye to eye.

of course there is the fine print to consider ... HandofHecate (with a different but similar communication hiccup) seems to have a case for some special exclusion ... it seems that us citizenship may be around the corner to solve the problem anyway.

I was about to say something of simular lines to chancre's post, but you beat me to it. Well said. 🙂

On simular grounds, would he allow non-citizens who were Muslim but became Christian to be welcomed with open arms?

What about all the other religions/beliefs in the US that aren't Jewish or Christian?
