It's official, the world is going insane.

It's a broken system for sure, but hospitals don't turn patients away for ethical reasons so the cost of their care transfers to those who have insurance.

Much worse, from both an ethical and financial perspective, in the USA citizens pay money (cold, hard cash) to farmers for them not to farm their land. That's a holdover from trickle-up Reagan economics.

We pay to build tanks that sit for decades and just rust to death. The US army has more than 9,000 tanks and still building more. There's only one plant that builds them so as a favor to that congressional district they keep getting ordered even though they're not needed. The army doesn't even train drivers for them.

Hey…. 50% of the US population do not pay income taxes. Who knows what other taxes they don’t pay. So to use payment of taxes as a qualification to vote is quite irrelevant.
