Any honest heartfelt thoughts on this? I asked it of a pitiful contributor on another thread, who could only muster a 'it's of no concern to me..not my business'. That's OK, though.
So what does everyone think? Noncitizens vote on how we spend our money? Unbelievable.

Yet another reason why the electoral college is important. States shouldn't get more vote in national elections because they allow anyone to vote,

It's only for city-wide elections. Their votes won't count for state or national elections.

YOU LIE AGAIN.
According to your own source, residents of NYC will be able to vote in
MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS ONLY...........LOCAL ELECTIONS, GENIUS
That's sure a far cry from the fearmongering, ''....how we spend our money.....''
Your TAXES ARE NOT SPENT IN NEW YORK CITY,
I know you don't live there, most New Yorkers are enlightened/
With so many real issues, one wonders why is it

You off the point again. Behind the beat. So, you are saying there are local elections where they do have rights which equate to voting rights? Would you elaborate ? Hell I’d just like to hear an answer. Like if it pertains to how something goes down in my neighborhood, which has been developed by my school mates and me over 40 years, they should have a say-so? These non-citizens? People who are not citizens?

Ten neighbors and myself, all neighbors, have a local election on the basketball courts in the park......some guy from Yemen can vote in this election? Where to erect goals, what kind of asphalt, how much money to assess?

If you allow non-citizens to vote in city elections it's only a matter of time before they will be allowed to vote in state elections and then the Presidency.

Do you seriously think getting rid of the electoral college crap will generate chaos?
Why do all the other democratic countries do without one?
Also do you think if there was no electoral college we would what, not require some form of ID? Then tab up all the votes in each state and have maybe computers looking at all the votes and seeking out illegal dups.
You are dissing a system before it even gets started.
What we DON'T want is minority rule like repubs are attempting now, and going beyond that to complete political control of the US. ALL of it.
THAT is their goal and they don't even bother to deny it, they have said so in public talks and in private talks.

Did The YEMENI pay taxes that hired the contractors
to build the park and maintain the ball court?
What are you people so afraid of?
Change is inevitable and I got news for you,

Depends on one’s stance, really.
Should you have a say on how a city is run because you are an American or because you live in that city?

In the UK (pre-Brexit, I don’t know what it’s like now), if you live and work in a town for more than 6 months you are eligible to vote in local elections. Not national elections.

I’m on the fence about it. Leave it up to local authorities to implement it how they see fit.

I agree, let 'em run their city,
not my concern, or business.

I agree that it's definitely a stepping stone for that.

Currently, the ballot boxes used by non-citizens will be different from everyone else, though I don't know if that makes any difference.

I don't like that a non-citizens can vote after only 30 days as a resident. But then again, we're talking about legal residents who have their papers. That's the important part. This right is not being given to undocumented people.

The path to citizenship, even for people born in America, can be a long and arduous one. So I can see an argument for extending voting rights to them. Dreamers (DACA) are immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children, and through no fault of their own, remained in the country.

Many of these Dreamers have English as their first or even only language, and know of no other culture other than the American culture they were raised in. Many of them work and are still required to pay income taxes. Taxation without representation is one of the issues that caused America to rebel against England; so it would be wrong to impose taxes on legal residents, without them having the right to vote and have a voice in government.
