In the same speech he also said this...

Do they get paid for this? Sounds like forced labor to me. Sounds like a draft which everyone hates. What will these civlian soldiers be doing? What if i don't believe in what they're doing? Nah! it would Never get out of line. Hell, Obama is not like evil George Bush.

According to that speech college kids get a $4k tax credit for 100 hours of service. All he says about middle and high school kids is that their schools will be required to develop some kind of programs in order to receive federal funding, which doesn't sound like the middle and high school kids get anything except a warm fuzzy feeling and a hat that says "Obama loves me" on it. He'll probably have them out working the corn crops for bio fuels.

So now my kid won't be required to salute the flag or say the Nat'l Anthem, but they will be required to work in the fields for the gov't. And people bitched about Bush's wire tapping (Me too).

According to Wiki:

The Hitler Youth (German: Hitler-Jugend) (HJ) was originally Munich-based only. In 1923, the organization had a little over one thousand members. In 1925, when the Nazi Party had been refounded, the membership grew to over 5,000. Five years later, national HJ membership stood at 25,000. By the end of 1932 (a few weeks before the Nazis came to power) it was at 107,956. At the end of 1933, the HJ had 2,300,000 members. Much of these increases came from the more or less forcible merger of other youth organizations with the HJ. (The sizable Evangelische Jugend, the Evangelical youth organisation of 600,000 members, was integrated on February 18, 1934).[3]

By December 1936, HJ membership stood at just over five million. That same month, HJ membership became mandatory, under the Gesetz über die Hitlerjugend law. This legal obligation was re-affirmed in 1939 with the Jugenddienstpflicht and HJ membership was required even when it was opposed by the member's parents. From then on, most of Germany's teenagers belonged to the HJ. By 1940, it had eight million members. Later war figures are difficult to calculate, since massive conscription efforts and a general call-up of boys as young as ten years old meant that virtually every young male in Germany was, in some way, connected to the HJ. Only about 10 to 20% were able to avoid joining.

Are we going to repeat history!

Nowhere in that speech is there anything remotely resembling what the OP claimed.

Yeah, offering college students a $4000 tuition discount to perform community service is identical to the Hitler Youth. 🙄

Obama has been quoted as saying that:

"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

What would the purpose of this force be?
After doing some research, the quote is genuine. We already have a "civilian national security force" which consists of police, the FBI, ATF, and agencies within the auspices of Homeland Security. Obama seems to be suggesting increases in those agencies to accomplish "national security objectives" of which the primary one is protecting the US from attack. It is obviously no longer sufficient to acheive that goal to have a strong military (necessary but not sufficient).

That's not exactly "Obama Youth", is it?

It's pretty simple really. After ACORN wins the election for him by forging a million votes for him by "homeless" people, he will then give them all guns to patrol the streets.

DO ANY OF YOU ACTUALLY HAVE A BRAIN IN YOUR HEAD?????????

I know you all are just pre-programmed to hate anything and everything non-republican but FFS GIVE US ALL A FRICKIN BREAK!

NONE OF YOU SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO VOTE IF YOU ARE THIS MISINFORMED. READ THE DAMN SPEECH INSTEAD OF A 2 LINE SENTENCE AND YOU'LL FIGURE IT OUT. AIRHEADS!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

"
Just as we must value and encourage military service across our society, we must honor and expand other opportunities to serve. Because the future of our nation depends on the soldier at Fort Carson, but it also depends on the teacher in East LA, or the nurse in Appalachia, the after-school worker in New Orleans, the Peace Corps volunteer in Africa, the Foreign Service officer in Indonesia. . . .

Today, AmeriCorps – our nation’s network of local, state and national service programs – has 75,000 slots. And I know firsthand the quality of these programs. My wife Michelle once left her job at a law firm at city hall to be a founding director of an AmeriCorps program in Chicago that trains young people for careers in public service. These programs invest Americans in their communities and their country. They tap America’s greatest resource – our citizens.

That’s why as President, I will expand AmeriCorps to 250,000 slots, and make that increased service a vehicle to meet national goals like providing health care and education, saving our planet and restoring our standing in the world, so that citizens see their efforts connected to a common purpose. People of all ages, stations, and skills will be asked to serve. Because when it comes to the challenges we face, the American people are not the problem – they are the answer.

So we are going to send more college graduates to teach and mentor our young people. We’ll call on Americans to join an Energy Corps to conduct renewable energy and environmental cleanup projects in their neighborhoods all across the country. We will enlist our veterans to find jobs and support for other vets, to be there for our military families. And we’re going to grow our Foreign Service, open consulates that have been shuttered, and double the size of Peace Corps by 2011 to renew our diplomacy.

We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded. "

Undoubtedly, much of what Obama is talking about is also proposed on his website, for example:

He will establish a Classroom Corps to help teachers and students, with a priority placed on underserved schools; a Health Corps to improve public health outreach; a Clean Energy Corps to conduct weatherization and renewable energy projects; a Veterans Corps to assist veterans at hospitals, nursing homes and homeless shelters; and a Homeland Security Corps to help communities plan, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

Figured out that the quote from the OP was real, but was omitted from the Obama campaign's transcript of the speech, eh? Gee, that seems like kind of a strange omission. Just those two lines.

I don't think its clear at all what the hell Obama was talking about in those mysteriously missing sentences. A national civilian force that is just as strong and powerful as the US military, and apparently funded in the hundreds of billions annually? Perhaps he did mean the FBI etc but that's not how it seemed to me when I first heard him say it.

As for the youth thing, that was a different part of the speech where he claims we should withhold federal funding from schools unless they go along with implementing some Obama approved "service programs". The two topics got kind of blurred together in our lunatic conservative ramblings of rage and despair.

Here's a hint. The fact that you can't tell if we're joking is uproariously hysterical. I'm afraid you'll never get it since some sacred part of your belief system is always the punchline.
