@AverageJoe1 saidTheres no other way to interpret it. The budget cuts $2 trillion from a pot of money for Medicaid.
Could you show us a ligit article that money that is destined to the poor will be highjacked and given to billionaires and oligarchs?
And the deficit goes UP by $19 trillion?
Make it make sense that poor people don't suffer more while the rich drown us in debt?
@wildgrass saidSo you say. Can you send me a legit item that Medicaid loses that money?

@AverageJoe1 saidThe budget lacks detail on purpose, but the pot of money that is being cut does not have 2 trillion to cut unless you cut Medicaid.

So much of federal spending is healthcare that once you start proposing big cuts, there is no other option.
The data is in the article posted in the first post of this thread.
@wildgrass saidStand by, we are waiting for proof positive from SHouse. This is really new ro me, I need to be on top of it when I see friends tonight

Let's say i have a house and all the living spaces are called "Medicare and Medicaid" and you want to reduce the size of the house by 20%. You remove the garage and the chicken coop and the tool shed, but thats only 10%.
What do you do?
@wildgrass saidIt's one thing to vote for a budget bill with few specifics.

It's quite another to vote for spending cuts which will affect your constituents.
Trump can lose one Republican in the House only; I already hear a few in swing districts balking at Medicaid cuts in particular.
The most likely outcome is a budget busting tax cut with few real cuts in spending.
@no1marauder saidThis is what Republicans do every time. It's maddening. They grow the government with huge loans and then the Democrats need to clean up the mess.

I heard a clip from his cabinet meeting today where someone said they would easily raise $1trillion extra by charging immigrants $5 million each.
These guys are not serious people.
@AverageJoe1 saidHard to believe you didn't hear this. Maybe because NewsMax or Fox doesn't WANT you to hear about this because that is all you watch.

OK, all very interesting. Not having a knee-jerk nature as all of you do, I have seen the tanking of Medicare provided by Sonhouse and will see what i can see of it. If it is as bad as you say it is, then I will have a problem. I don't need Medicaid, but I know many many do and what this says, of course, concerns me.
There must be a provision in all this that makes it not as bad at it sounds? They are going to abandon old sick people? I will have to be convinced of that big time. I will get back to you. You better not b sending me on a wild goose chase.
@Earl-of-Trumps saidWho knew you were such a fan of enormous deficit spending.
Winning!!! So much winning!!
For reference there are 3 trillion trees in the whole world. Trump wants to raise deficit spending that is six times more than that.
There are 50 billion birds currently alive in the world. Trump wants to raise deficit spending 360 times more than the number of living birds.
@sonhouse saidNews Quote: “GOP leaders emphasize that their plan doesn’t specifically mention Medicaid cuts. But the $880 billion target over the 10-year period in the budget for the Energy and Commerce Committee is likely to require more Medicaid changes beyond that. Medicaid is projected to cost $8.2 trillion over that period. “. This reads differently than your post, little feller.

Sonhouse……have you knee jerked in stating something that is not for sure? That, it is all a plan they are working on? Nothing in stone yet..?
Turkey, you really had me going. I was gonna get one of those faerie signs to carry around,… Trump Must Go! Musk Is Illegal, ! Such as that.
@wildgrass saidI thought he chopped $2 trillion out of the budget? hmmm....
