Prostitution is not slavery! None of the girls I used to drive around LA had pimps. They even asked me to pretend to be their pimp ("if I don't come down at the time we agreed and I don't call you, you go up to the door and knock real loud and say, 'I'm here for the girl', ok?" ), and they didn't pay me much at all.
They were also generally feminists and defended their right to live as they pleased with enthusiasm.

Prostitution and sex slavery are two different things, just as drugs and violent crime are two different things. The government and the religious right have tied the one to the other by making both illegal.
If prostitution is a crime, then how can you tell the free prostitutes from the slaves? How can a free prostitute defend herself from slavery when she can't go to the police?!
Likewise for the honest drug dealer vs the miserable pieces of ghetto trash that need to have their skin flayed from their bones from the scrotum up. The government has forced the two to combine, because the peaceful drug dealers cannot go to the police to protect against the thugs.
The only peaceful and safe drug dealers in the US are in California and/or are medical doctors. The only peaceful and safe whores are in Nevada and/or are "girlfriends" or "mistresses" who are payed in vacations, drinks and jewelry.
Look at prohibition of alcohol to see what comes of this meddling, self-righteous, controlling prohibitionistic attitude.
