Campaign staffer, 17, for Ilhan Omar's Republican congressional opponent is shot and killed in Minneapolis

A 17-year-old boy who had worked for a Republican congressional candidate running against Democratic Rep Ilhan Omar was shot and killed in an attack outside a gas station on Minneapolis’ north side.

A second person who also had worked for Republican Lacy Johnson was wounded in the shooting on Monday.

Earlier this morning, police in Minneapolis arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting following a high-speed pursuit. He is now in custody but has yet to be named.

Why not just aim a heat ray at them?

I read the article, but there appears to be no clear link to them being targeted for their political views.

It seems to just be related back to the ever increasing violence in Minneapolis.

Even if it was politically motivated that doesn't mean it was organized by politicians. Jared Loughner was politically motivated.

No it’s ok I’m aware of what ‘politically motivated’ means ATY but it would still be a very disturbing event if one US citizen shot another US citizen because they were volunteering for or linked to the wrong political party.
