@AverageJoe1 saidOk averagedumbo lets see...
I actually have 3.
1) No one here objects to Biden violating Constitution by taking over $600B from treasury (reducing tuition loans) without congressional approval. Query, would you agree that Trump take money in that way for a pet project?
2) Would you assist a swim competition in getting a man….a normal man..to compete against girls, one of whom is your daughter, h ...[text shortened]... o annihilated 100k Asians.?
Glad to have this discussion with you. Show SonHouse, how it is done.
First up, lets agree that none of these issues are simple black or white scenarios.
Secondly when there is a nuanced situation, people will often run with a feature that doesn't actually apply in the debate as they at times can be confused with what they argue against.
Lastly, it has to be established that Americans as a group are a bunch of curmudgeons when it comes to spending tax-payers money. You guys have a real problem with helping the less fortunate and will put up complex arguments how helping those in need will be their downfall, yet the same argument never seems to apply when asking the rich to shoulder a financial burden appropriate to their circumstances.
So lets have a look.
Number 1.
Biden and student debt forgiveness and Executive Order illegality etc.
From USA Today.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/08/21/fact-check-presidential-spending-through-executive-order-allowed/5582667002/
" The claim that a president cannot spend taxpayer dollars by executive order is MISSING CONTEXT. It's true that the Constitution gives Congress the power of the purse, meaning the president cannot spend money without Congress appropriating it. But there are scenarios in which executive orders could be used to disperse funds, particularly from contingency funds. And Congress has given the president latitude to "shift things around."
The other thing is that when "forgiving student debt" is broached, its all about the 87% of taxpayers that have to foot the bill, but when the discussion arises about giving the UBER wealthy a tax cut, then the focus shifts to the percentage of tax revenue the wealthy raise. However, the fact that the public purse keeps getting worse off, with Uncle Sam not being able to fund all of his social obligations, well that's just some unrelated devastating reality for someone else to worry about and by not being able to meet those social obligations, isn't that just dandy because it will force the idle poor to develop much needed backbone, to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and not get comfortable sucking on the government teat. Right!?
Number 2.
Biden's plans to moderate Title IX. Title IX is about non discrimination when federal funds are involved and whether you like it or not, the Government of the US of A is committed to a program of fairness for all its citizens. Yet the Biden administration has attempted to provide relief in the sense that schools are to be empowered to limit participation of transgendered athletes in sports without allowing schools to impose blanket bans. Sounds like nuance. But the troglodytes head's are exploding. Cognitive dissonance plus plus. But the sports bodies at the World/International level have stepped up and determined that no transgendered athlete who has gone through male puberty will be allowed to compete against women. Did it take a little while for this to be determined and common sense to prevail. Yes. But its great that society was willing to consider transgendered athletes through the eyes of a non discriminatory ethos. Which begs a question. If your judgement against an administration is due to it not nailing policy 100% perfectly 100% of the time, then tell me of your Utopia, and where it can be found. I want to go see this place!
Number 3.
I very much doubt that any President after George HW ever had that power. And HW was a former director of the CIA, so no, its not even remotely close that Biden would or should be able to start any war. The only real power Biden might exercise in the prospective theatre of war would be to veto the damn thing.
Hope this helps.
@AverageJoe1 saidSorry for trying to stay on topic.
Did I mention Heritage in this post? Did i 'guess' anything. No to both. Just pitiful.
But I did point out the view of AOC. You write naught about that. You are more and more like Sonhouse.

Biden an😲N #1, below, I see you, irrelevant, mention the wealthy, and you mention the idle poor, it is an unbelievable response to a simple question. How would you explain his raiding the funds to a 15 year old? A little too much fluff to a simple question. And college grads ain't poor.
I attach a typical article on such raiding. Basically, it applies in national emergencies, such as that, or, just out and out whim of a president, which is not allowed by the Constitution. That does not seem to bother you as a lib, I think it is wrong since it says it is, (not an emergency), so I win this one. Now we will look at #2..
@AverageJoe1 saidSo you chose not to address my observations and decided instead you would point, name and run. Maybe that strategy works with people who don't pay attention.

@AverageJoe1 saidAs has been pointed out to you many times, no funds were "raided". The Executive Department has simply utilized the authority Congress gave it to forgive some portions of student debt that is owed to the US government. So far, the Courts have upheld this authority as to existing programs if not to the never put in place one the SCOTUS (mistakenly) struck down.

@kmax87 saidApologies, the artickle would not attache, but I can simply say without reservation, that such raiding is for emergencies. Trump prob got funds for the Wall that way, which, was our greatest emergecny in history short of Wars. The payment of peronal voluntary loans of people with poor planning is not an emergency KMax.
So you chose not to address my observations and decided instead you would point, name and run. Maybe that strategy works with people who don't pay attention.
So, I am surprsed for ever that you liberals are OK with Biden spending the $6B. With his defying the Court. If you and I were sitting at dinner and talking about something, anything, I think I would be sort of just , you know, staring at you, like...just look at this guy. He is oblivious in everything he is saying. Did you have anythign to say about armless veterans? I know you are cool with giving money and shelter to invaders, but waht about the vetrans. Excuse typing, I am sitting in a golf cart.
Now I will look at #2
@kmax87 saidWhenever you exchange with AJ, it's best to remember this Zen story:
So you chose not to address my observations and decided instead you would point, name and run. Maybe that strategy works with people who don't pay attention.
"Scholar Tokusan--who was full of knowledge and opinions about the dharma--came to Ryutan and asked about Zen. At one point Ryutan re-filled his guest's teacup but did not stop pouring when the cup was full. Tea spilled out and ran over the table. "Stop! The cup is full!" said Tokusan.
"Exactly," said Master Ryutan. "You are like this cup; you are full of ideas. You come and ask for teaching, but your cup is full; I can't put anything in. Before I can teach you, you'll have to empty your cup."
https://www.learnreligions.com/empty-your-cup-3976934
Joe is just so filled with the dis and misinformation he gullibly accepts without question from right wing propaganda sources that he cannot conceive that he is being played; he absolutely will not even consider that his beliefs are based on a con. He needs to "empty his cup" and deal with reality but he shows no signs of being willing to do so.
@no1marauder saidThis stuff has nothing to do with defying the court, and spending money on somethihg that is not an emergency. Defying SCOTUS, Marauder. Jesus. And you have said the money has never actually been tapped or some foolishness.

Then what was everyone writing and talking about ? The money, I mean? what is the $600B? even if you were right, which you are not , it is not fathomable.
You waste your breath. Tremendous llib double talk. I would be looking askance at you as well as we had diinner.
Number 2..How do I begin resoponding to a guy, who may be a father of a 15 yr old girl who plays tennis or swims. Doingit all her life. I must with all respects cast aside the crap that you just wrote. To start with, Title !X has noting to do with it. YOu libs dont get that.

I kill y'all with analogies all day long. You live next to me, and you have a daughter. We have a pool in our subdivision for the use of residents, and my wife and I arrange for all our neighborhood daughters to have a race or whafever at 2PM. They all show up, in a development moment of their lives, to compete. Maruader lives there too and his two sons demand to participate.
KMAX......need I even phrase the question? Take a stab. And I will gloss over any irrelevant stuff that you and Maruder are given to write about. If you bore us with trans crap, I will simply say "Let us pretend it is happening in 1949'.

No $600 billion has been "raided" to pay off student debt.
The Biden administration has never defied a court order regarding student debt.
Number 3.Sonhouse might take exceptin to your saying presidents have limited power. He thinks thte court just said that Trump can remove anybody, any way, any time.
I very much doubt that any President after George HW ever had that power. And HW was a former director of the CIA, so no, its not even remotely close that Biden would or should be able to start any war. Let's assume your position. We stipulate that Truman could say lets annihilate Hiroshima and the famiies that live there. To be clear, I would have pushed that button.
But are you saying that it is different now?? That after Bush, no president can do such things, like Obama droning people.??/. When did that right to bomb people, by a president, change? I am not up on such history, so have not studied response.
So, got nothing on #3. Well, I will go now and watch my 14-yr old darling, who has dreams of a scholarship and being on the Duke Tennis Team. If she gets into the finals on Sunday, and a guy (male with all his parts) emerges to play against her on the other side of the net (handily beating crap out of her) her life, along wth the USA, will sink.
Oh you never did answer....If your daughter is in a swim meet, her passion, and she is wired for success big time...........(aaaahhh, you know where I am going with this questiion, don't you. ). what would you say or do if you discovered that men (with all their parts, no trannie queerdom) were going to compete against her?
Marauder need not answer. He actually may answer as he should, but he will pepper his answer with so much stuff and links that I would get lost.
Y'all join the ranks of Sonhouse, who refused to answer.

@no1marauder saidIf you say so, of course.

The Biden administration has never defied a court order regarding student debt.
Note to KMAX.... What he is doing is playing with words but you and I get it. The court ruled that to do what he tried to do requires a congressional approval. But Marauder doesnt put it that way. He takes my statement of 'defying the court', which court did indeed Not issue an order. Tricky Clinton Marauder. The old 'It depends on what the word 'is' is."
So I respectfully re-phrase. Biden violated the Constitution. Imagine that.
@no1marauder saidAnother poor chice of words by AvJoe,,,,,i AM sitingina golf cart. I said raid. Use any word you want, but we are tired of hearing that no money was ever moved from one place, to another place.
"Empty your cup", Joe.
No $600 billion has been "raided" to pay off student debt.
They were writing about something, little feller.. And let us all stipulate, there was no emergency. A man with no arms and no future, and no money, is. a walking emergency.
@AverageJoe1
So you figure it is ok to DECIMATE our democracy because you REFUSE to allow student loan help.
Got it.
