@shavixmir saidNot sure how this has anything to do with the fact that people vote against Biden by voting for Trump, or against Trump by voting for Biden.
Christ almighty. The moronity just keeps oozing.
It amazes me how people who do not live in the US pretend to be experts on why things happen as they do in the US.
But it has long been believed some around here have mental issues.
@no1marauder saidPopular vote does not matter, it never has. The US was designed to help make it more difficult for high population density areas to dominate elections.
Trump is, again, going to lose the popular vote by millions; Biden is up over 2 million at this point with probably another 20 million mostly mail and/or urban and California votes to count.
Oh, but you might disagree because the electoral college is a relatively new invention in the US.
Yes, that was sarcasm.
@no1marauder saidbut the polls...😂

It seems entirely possible that Trump might win.
@no1marauder saidjust cant quite get the hang of the electoral college can you? 😂

@eladar saidThe Electoral College doesn't function anything like the Framers originally intended to do and your claims on how it was designed by them is based on historical ignorance.

There were no "high population density areas" at the time of the Constitution; over 90% of the population lived in rural areas.
Trump's lead in Michigan has dwindled to 44,000 and:
"More ballots are still coming from Wayne — only around 600,000 have been cast there, whereas 780,000 were cast in 2016. The expected vote is over 900,000."

Wayne County contains Detroit and so far the county is going to Biden by over 2:1. https://results.decisiondeskhq.com/2020/general/michigan
IF Biden holds his leads in Nevada and Wisconsin and Wayne County puts him over in Michigan, he has 270 EVs regardless of the results in Pennsylvania and Georgia.
@eladar saidYes. Yes it has indeed.

@shavixmir saidIt was put in place to help prevent big states from dominating small states in federal issues.
Fact of the matter is the electoral college serves absolutely no objective purpose.
After sleeping, I see things are getting interesting! It's disappointing that it's taking so long. 2016 was the first US election I followed and I remember it wrapped up during an exam the next morning.
Assuming the states in play are Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, here are some combinations for each:
Democrat:
PA GA (274)
PA MI (274)
PA WI NV (274)
GA MI (270)
GA WI NV (270)
MI WI NV (270)
I think Joe has a lesser chance in Georgia but I included it anyway since it's not certain.
Republican:
PA GA MI (284)
PA GA WI (278)
PA MI WI (278)
GA MI WI (274)
PA GA NV (274)
PA MI NV (274)
GA MI NV (270)
Very interesting to see how important a relatively small state like Nevada has become. If Trump wins Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Nevada, he can afford to lose the Midwest.
@mott-the-hoople saidI think Suzianne did finally get how important it is
just cant quite get the hang of the electoral college can you? 😂
@shavixmir saidIt gets Republicans elected. That is why it stays.
