Did it EVER occur to you that as patriotic members of the military they didn't want to resign their commissions in the middle of a war? It takes a lot for a career military SOLDIER to finally say "I've had it with the BS" and quit. But an ignorant, right wing parrot like you wouldn't understand any of that.
You use the term 'parrot' alot. Are you a real 'Pirate'? Or do you fantasize about being Johnny Depp, whom I'm sure you agree should be the next president....

After being publicly chastised by Secretary Rumsfeld, Lt. General Newbold suddenly requested early retirement and now, years later, is playing the politician while couching himself in a Marine uniform he removed some four months before the war even started.

I'd rather see his full-throated critique of Somalia. Where he commanded the 15th Marine Expeditionary U ...[text shortened]... rations of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

'Meet the new boss, same as the old boss'...hardly.
Please site the source of your information that Lt. General Newbold was "publicly chastised" by Rumsfeld. It probably doesn't exist or is from some right-wing blog that provides "information" like Wes Clark's wife is a Belgian.

You only seem to have respect for military men who agree with the poiticans you worship. The level of personal attacks you right wingers stoop to against every ex-military man who criticizes present US policy is appalling, but typical.

You can't "enlighten me" with falsehoods. That's what your post contained. "Englighten me" with when Lt. General Newbold was "publicly chastised" by Rummy like xs claimed. An actual "fact" from you right wingers to support any of your arguments would be nice for a change.

Yes. Point?

EDIT: By "we" I take it you mean the US military.

Google >General Newbold was "publicly chastised"< and pick your own site.
Normally I would defer to you, rhp's resident expert, on the matter of what constitutes a personal attack. However, anyone who publicly criticizes their government had best be able to withstand scrutiny himself (especially when it's directly related to the critique). And anyone posting those criticisms without acquainting himself with the facts of the situation, will have difficulty defending them.

Try reading the entire three sentence post. HINT: Not "wanting" to do something doesn't mean you won't do it if you feel that it is morally or ethically or otherwise required.
