i'm reading the context correctly, you're just dodging the issue.
WTF?? How so? The "issue" was slimjim said that they should have resigned their commissions during wartime if they didn't like the war plans. I responded directly to that; no dodging at all. I can't help that you're soooooooooooo stupid that you don't even know what the issue we were discussing was.

I don't know what you're talking about then. Try making a post that clearly states something rather than the moronic semi-sentences you've been using the last 3 pages.

Here's Major General Batiste being interviewed by Jim Lehrer. Maybe it will answer some of your questions if you have any. http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/military/jan-june06/iraq_4-13.html

from your link:
"GEN. PETER PACE, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman: We had then and have now every opportunity to speak our minds; and if we do not, shame on us, because the opportunity is there. It is elicited from us. And we're expected to.

And the plan that was executed was developed by military officers, presented by military officers, questioned by civilians -- as they should -- revamped by military officers, and blessed by the senior military leadership. I wanted to tell you how I believe this system works, and I wanted to tell you how I have observed it working for five years, because the articles that are out there about folks not speaking up are just flat wrong.

What a surprise! Try reading the actual interview with Batiste. Pace is speaking to a strawman; the generals in question don't claim that they and other military leaders never spoke up (quite the contrary).

it looks like you just read the first sentence of the portion i posted, and skipped the rest.

I'm not going to keep talking to an asshole. I read the whole quote which I have already seen several times on the web and heard on TV (Rumsfeld was at the same podium with Pace when he said it). The "strawman" portion I was referring to is in the LAST sentence, retard to wit: because the articles that are out there about folks not speaking up are just flat wrong.
you'd best get an iPod and turn it way up loud, then 🙄 ....

ok, now you've read the last sentence, and are just ignoring the middle.
