Reading tea leaves during jury instructions is always hazardous but:
The jury around noon asked for the first 6 pages of the judge's instructions which contained the self defense portion and the homicide charge for the killing of Rosenbaum. Importantly, if the jury finds Rittenhouse acted in justifiable self-defense, then it must acquit on ALL charges.
But then around 4 PM, the jury asked for the remaining 30 pages of the judge's instructions. Does this mean they have rejected self-defense? Well nothing is certain with juries but it's beginning to look like this might not necessarily be the slam dunk acquittal most have anticipated. Then again you never know until the verdict comes in.

It means a hung jury to save the town.
Those jurors are from that town. They don't want to see it burn but they also know the prosecutions case was junk.
My theory is a hung jury and then they delay charging him again...
Eventually it is forgotten.
Or...convict him now and the appeals court destroys it...and nobody cares because that is later and we will be focused on new events.
