Supreme Court strikes down Trump-era ban on bump stocks for guns
The Supreme Court ruled Friday that devices that turn a semi-automatic rifle into something closer to a machine gun are legal, a win for gun rights advocates and a blow to efforts to reduce gun violence that has besieged the nation.
The court split 6-3 along ideological lines in deciding that the federal government was wrong to classify a bump stock as a machine gun.
"A bump stock does not convert a semi-automatic rifle into a machinegun any more than a shooter with a lightning-fast trigger finger does," Justice Clarence Thomas wrote in his opinion for the majority.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor, who read the liberals' dissent from the bench, said the majority used an "artificially narrow definition" to reach a conclusion that will have "deadly consequences."
In a concurring opinion, Samuel Alito said the 'simple remedy' to the gun issue is Congress amending the law that bans machine guns.

Bump stocks can turn semi-automatic guns into automatics. SCOTUS overturned Trump's ban on them.
This proves that Trump has no actual power. The one time Trump does something good that conservatives reject, his own appointees turn on him.
He has no ability to enact laws that Republicans don't like. He has a lot of influence to bully people and even end conservative careers of people he doesn't like; and yet he can't put through any policy that's against the conservative agenda.
A few weeks ago, Trump stated he would vote "no" on a 6-week abortion ban, then flip-flopped under conservative pressure. This proves that Trump is not the problem; he's just a mouthpiece for the far right.
Same with Fox News: they lost ratings after their base was outraged over their calling Arizona for Trump in the election. Fox News holds no power to sway anyone and neither does Trump. Their power only lies in their ability to keep feeding right-wingers what they want to hear.

The point is that they make semi-autos even more dangerous than they already are. This stupidity could lead to a mass shooting where bump stocks were used to murder even more people than without them.

So the supreme court goes against Trump's ban on the device and the same supreme court sort of bans abortions under Biden's presidency.
I'd say the supreme court has their own agenda and has nothing to do with Trump or anyone else.

Republicans are behind Trump so long as he keeps pushing a conservative agenda. Banning bump stocks is more in line with Dems, which SCOTUS rejected.
