@averagejoe1 saidShow it does rather than just say it does.
Define 'such programs'. The Seattle program far exceeds your suggested programs. Not to be derisive, but I do consider that your marxist tendencies have (up to now!! 🙂) made it difficult to respond in kind to some of your beliefs. It is, in this case, as if you think that when someone has something taken from them, that they can go up to City Hall, or the State house. and have it replaced? Is the what I am hearing?
Stupidly calling me a "marxist" every post you respond to one of mine isn't "debate".
@averagejoe1 saidMeanwhile the perpetrators get government aid too for being scumbags.
You’re killing me (and all of us). Google ‘Seattle Restitution’, and you will be utterly amazed. When a victim of a crime suffers a loss, the town will takemoney from the taxpayers, who have nothing to do with person or the criminal or the crime, and pay it to the victim.
Do the liberals on this forum have any idea where all of this is heading. It means, of course, ...[text shortened]... the new definition of a citizen, that even illegal people in this country could receive such money.
@dood111 saidAs far as I can see, the program is designed to get prompt compensation for victims rather than trying to squeeze blood from the rocks of perpetrators who generally have no assets.

I'm really still trying to figure out why anyone would be opposed to crime victims being compensated for their damages.
@no1marauder - I'm really still trying to figure out why anyone would be opposed to crime victims being compensated for their damages.
It trains people to be dependent on government safety nets, as opposed to being self-reliant and prepared to deal with simple problems.
@no1marauder saidBut I asked ''''is that what I am hearing?', and you do not respond, instead, commenting on my saying you have marxist leanings. You do, you know, it showed itself in the Student Loan Forgiveness thread. I Don't think I was too strong about marxism, I simply apply the 'walks like a duck, talks like a duck' maxim, so, therefore behold a duck. Your leanings are all about marxism, neither you nor any other libs here ever typed the word self reliance,, or independence, (Obama never said that either, come to mind). Rather, you all into being dependent,, relying on others. Marauder, what if under the new socialism, everyone starts to rely on every one else?????. Can you a least answer THAT?.
Show it does rather than just say it does.
Stupidly calling me a "marxist" every post you respond to one of mine isn't "debate".
And why did you not answer my question above, ?? I asked, if you think that someone who has been burglarized should be able to go to City Hall or the State House and have it replaced?? Now Marauder, put up or shut up. That is what this thread is about, it is not about Trump or the globe. So again, should a citizen of any state be able have his property replaced? (In the urban dictionary used by libs, a citizen is any human within our borders.) Standing by, all are waiting your answer. Remember, not about Trump?
@no1marauder saidMaybe if you restate exactly what is happening,, it will dawn on you. I already wrote a good analogy, I responsibly put a camera at my door,, neighbor does not. He Rides a bike to the local pub, whatever. Comes home, finds out the crook avoided my camera and took his stuff.

C'mon, Marauder. Ha, I would love to see you in charge of that department and setting up guidelines.!!
What if perpetrator DOES have money? He pays. If he is poor, then WE pay???? Lordy lordy, I dont think even Marx would glom onto this one.
@averagejoe1 saidI really don't feel like responding to your brain dead posts.

Victims of crimes should be made whole if possible or what is society for? If it won't protect the People, such a State is just a tyranny.
@no1marauder saidYou should be trained to help yourself FIRST
A simple question:
What is the purpose of human society? Is it mutual aid and protection?
You should insure your household goods so you don't have to demand that bsociety reimburse you when a thief steals off with your goods, as an example.
@earl-of-trumps saidI very much doubt that is what the founding fathers of our nation had in mind when they penned the words: We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union...

It doesn't say "Every sucker for himself! or "Citizens should be trained to help themselves FIRST!"

So just because we have permissions to choose the discipline way and the lazy -let-society-worry-about-me way, you seem to side with the latter.
good for you
@Earl-of-Trumps
Here is really big news for you: Some folks CANNOT deal with problems in their life, like people who cannot walk or are blind or deaf, they need help, not everyone has the resources to succeed, I was lucky, found work to this day and I had thought every time I went to a new job, this is the last, agism will stop me working but it turned out I have valuable skills and age didn't matter so much.
Not everyone has such skills no matter how hard they try.
Like a single mom trying to go to college, gets in a few months and finds she can't get student loans so out of school and back to Taco Bell.
But you would tell her STOP FEELING SORRY FOR YOURSELF, pick yourself up and get your sorry life in order. NOW.
@earl-of-trumps saidEven staunch libertarians recognize that society must protect its members from force and fraud.

@no1marauder saidOf course. That's why we have laws.

let's not mix apples and oranges.
