"But there is also the importance of the rule of law," he continued. "The protection of people who are in this country. And what you've had is sometimes a very cynical use by some people in power of trying to manipulate Christians by saying, since you must demonstrate compassion, therefore you must embrace open immigration, or you must not insist on the enforcement of the immigration laws."

"That is very, very manipulative. No one would say that because you love people or care for people, you should leave the doors of your house unlocked, or you should open up the jail cells in your own community," he said.

We don't live 2000 years ago where helping a hungry wanderer would be considered a Christian thing to do.

This is 2026 and if any of you are "soft as baby shyt Christians" then you will be obsolete/replaced/dead soon enough. Probably not until around the year 2050 or so 😉

Thank God I'll be dead before the slaughter begins.

So the article explains that usually Christians don't impart themselves into politics but since all the other religions are and will continue to do so, the president of these Christians is advocating for political discussions in churches.

It is possible to help a hungry wanderer, without allowing them to come into your home to llive. Both are possible and desirable. It is the ideal to help but keep them at bay. Nowhere can the teachings of the bible be interpreted to allow people to invade, threaten or destroy your lives

The US is still donates the most aid to poor countries despite massive cuts recently, and the US still has one of the highest net migration figures despite recent deportations.

The editor of "Christianity Today" was forced to resign after publishing an editorial calling Trump immoral. A rival Christian magazine blasted the editorial for not supporting the president.

Pope?

The article I posted is Protestant.

Also, your kind would be happy to see the end of Christianity and mostly the White ones.

The point is, a lot of people here seem to think you're not a Christian unless you are getting walked over and turning the other cheek.

That's manipulation talk by people who want to actually walk all over the Christians or even eliminate them.

Fun Fact: the people who talk like that are the same people who think they can win an argument by calling you racist.

Our Baptist preacher and leadership brought people in for everyone to get their concealed carry permits which no one needs anymore.

The editor of Christianity Today and the Reverend that were posted are Protestant.

They and many other Christians are silenced into obedience if they don't fall in line with Trump or the Republican agenda.

So they were just standing around and Trump just picked them out of a hat?

Ohhh I get it, they were probably the woke type who tried to change traditional ways so nobody gets their feelings hurt?
They changed the Bible just so people don't get their feelings hurt?
They made comments about Trump first?

Or did Trump just randomly pick them?

The guy in the article is basically saying to preach at the church that people need to decide to vote to keep things the way they are or face the consequences of being a Christian who "turns the other cheek" which is just a nice way of saying cowardice and the changes in society won't be nice for them.

No different than Muslims voting for Muslims and blacks voting for blacks and Jews for Jews etc

Many reasons, including acting like a god:

https://bobrussell.org/president-trump-youre-no-jesus-christ/

President Trump — You’re No Jesus Christ

President Trump shared an AI-generated image of himself dressed in a robe, his hand on the head of a sick man, a glowing orb in his other hand. The image appeared to depict the president as a Christ-like healer. The next day he deleted it, after evangelical and Catholic allies who usually defend him said the image was blasphemous.

Christ alone is to be worshipped. No president, no party, no pastor — and no preacher, either — stands in His place. Any meme, picture, or portrayal that depicts someone else as Christ is offensive.

The Bible records what can happen when a leader receives praise that belongs only to God:

“On the appointed day Herod, wearing his royal robes, sat on his throne and delivered a public address to the people. They shouted, ‘This is the voice of a god, not of a man.’ Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died” (Acts 12:21-23).

Notice — Herod didn’t claim to be God. He just accepted the praise of people who said he was. That was enough.

They may need it more than they know.
