Are you ready for the end of US democracy?
Yes.

Can you square this thought with buying a hamburger? I'm being serious. We are discussing logic, not hamburgers or fines per se.
If we follow your logic, then Bezos should pay $1000 or whatever for a hamburger.
But it goes deeper than that.......What other areas of society should set up such programs? Pay more for college tuition? For a car?
This is solved by income tax.

How you have the audacity to crowbar the word “logic” into that insane post is beyond me.
Buying a hamburger is a retail choice not a punishment / deterrent that comes later when your arteries turn to stone and your colon flops out of your rear end.

Good Stuff, Shav. Is everyone forgetting the insane amount of money that govt STILL wants to take away from rich people.
If a rich guy just quits, many people will suffer from lack of income.....Income which is a direct result of his being rich I am afraid that this sentence may be a bit hard to understand for some.

" If a rich guy just quits"
No rich guy will just quit being rich. That's nonsense.

"I am afraid that this sentence may be a bit hard to understand for some."
It's not hard to understand. It's wrong and laughably so, but it's not hard

Well, funny, cause you yourself do not understand that when a 'rich guy quits', he is quitting his business of making money. So, the business shuts down. All of the executives show up the next morning and scramble for naught, looking for those million-dollar pay checks. Then, the employees down the line, they are out of work, they have wasted their lives working for a corp that they'd wanted to grow with.....and get rich!!!
Now, it may not be so hard for you and others to understand. Even a liberal should understand it. Whew.

You actually have no idea how a business works do you Joe, do you think that Amazon would cease to trade if Bezos upped and left the planet and never came back 🤞
The majority share holders would simply place another CEO in the chair and carry on operating their tax free mint.

Obviously I am talking about your average every day business where a man gets rich on the business. It could be a chain of car washes. He closes them down, sells the land to a property developer and walks away. You darn sure know exactly what I meant, you just like to mess with me, but here I am explaining it to you a little better.

And Bezos does not own Amazon

Why would he do that though, has he suffered a mental breakdown and given all his possessions away rather than sit back and gather the fruits of labour, because that nasty Marxist ade him pay back relative to the profit he’s making from the labour of others?
That’s a Damn shame.

I believe Switzerland and Finland have just such a system.
I thought it was Sweden, but no matter where, it might make sense if they kept it within reason, but there are horror stories about people being required to pay huge sums of money for speeding, parking, etc.....it reached the point where wealthy people hired drivers because it was cheaper than an 80 thousand dollar ticket.

You still messin' with ole AJ? Maybe he is retiring, wants a lot of cash to buy a mansion at Lake Como in Italy? Or being blackmailed, somebody has something on him?? Why does this make any difference to the post, Kev. Help mr Rhonda.

I'd like to jehaw w you about the last part of your post, but I respectfully ask you to first define 'labour of others." I think it is referred to as 'backs of others' by Suzianne, and I have asked her for years to define it. With that, we could have a meaningful discussion.

@Contenchess
What do you think will happen to common folk if it is now an authoritarian state, maybe even killing the IDEA of two parties or such.

@AverageJoe1
Well Bezos STARTED Amazon and pulled out his cash, is that just an illustration of what you are talking about?

@AverageJoe1
Oh, you mean if some billionaire goes from 40 billion net worth to 35 billion net worth because of taxes, this is such a HUGE problem we should therefore stick the 30% tax on those ONLY making less than 100,000 a year?

If you will open your eyes you will see the game outhouse.

democrats have been saying tax the rich for years, have you seen them do it yet?

As things stand right now under bidens leadership, NOTHING has changed with the rich, poor people however are suffering $175 per month loss.
